3 reviews about Franco's Italian Restaurant

I have been here a couple of times for dinner. The food is pretty good though I find a lot of the choices a bit boring. The menu is mainly pasta and then there is some other meals like chicken, veal etc. They are often quite busy however this results in the room ending up being quite noisy.
One thing I can say is that even when the place is quite full the meals are served quickly and they are pretty large so you are unlikely to be left hungry. The price was fairly reasonable.

i have been to Franco's a few times over the years. I always found the food to be delicious but found the service to be very poor. The staff can get very stroppy and impatient very quickly. But if you can put up with that it is a good restaurant to eat at. It is a true italian restaurant right down to the beautiful bruschetta the make. My favourtie pasta dish is Spaghetti Pescatora but the rest of the family quite enjoy their home made lasagne. as well as pasta they also sell chicken, veal and seafood dishes and a range of italian desserts. We have always been full after our main meal so have never tried their desserts. The prices are reasonable for the size and quality. I think it cost us about $70 for all 3 of us to eat which i thought was good.

Tonight's dinner was a bit of a mixed bag really.

We walked in without any kind of reservations and were seated promptly. The venue didn't seem busy by any standards so I was surprised when there was only one menu available for three of us to share - a large booking was using the rest of them.

After sharing the menu we ordered, a herb bread to start then each of our respective pasta dishes. The pasta came out promptly and was delicious, perfectly cooked, flavoursome and thoroughly enjoyable. I can't tell you what the bread was like though because it didnt actually arrive.

We finished our meal and declined dessert after substantial mains, requesting the bill. When I pointed out the bread never came out it was promptly removed but there was no apology for the error.

Would I go go back? Probably. Would I rush back? Not so much.
