Absolutely disgusted by Franklyn Tingalpa branch today, paid top dollar for Crimsafe to be installed, came home and they didnt fit and were put in anyway...we have miss drilled holes in our joinery now and chips and scratches left by the drills chuck, worst installation ever by a Crimsafe installer. To fix the issue they screwed a piece of angle iron on to hide the gaps of the incorrectly measured screens and coloured in with a felt pen the silver on the holes. Measured wrong, installed wrong, look so ulgy, for top price, should have gone elsewhere and used another brand!!

$17K For 22 shutters of less than acceptable quality. Which probably are worth less than $1000.
I got 2 quotes for my outdoor aluminium shutters. 1 from Guardian and the other from Franklin. My husband liked the Franklin product better where as I preferred the Gardian. So sorry I didnt go with my gut feeling. Firstly I went to great lengths to explain to the rep that I wanted a water proof outdoor room.
These shutters were to provide a barrier on 3 sides of our patio. 2 nd . A big outlay for only a 1 year . warranty.. 3 rd. Made in China. 4 th. Cheap and nasty fittings that don’t last the distance. 5. Cost the same as the 100% australian made product mentioned above
My shutters have been installed less than 5 years now and I have purposely waited to offer my review.
My husband is always having to adjust these shutters. They definately do not provide a storm proof barrier. Actually a stiff wind would blow them open. Absolutely rubbish. So do yourself a favour if you want shutters. Go to Gardian where the product is made in Australia, in their plant at Logan.

Sub contractor installers that don't turn up to their appointment and a Sales Manager who doesn't get back to you when you have informed him that the blinds that were installed are too short to cover the windows.
You had better hope that nothing goes wrong with your Franklyns blinds order because once they have your money they don't want to know about you.
I'll deal with one of the smaller blind companies in the future.

Approximate cost: $5000

Before confirming order ask where the product will be manufactured. Don't assume it will be in the brand new highly publicised Rochedale factory. Very very very disappointed to find out that my shutters are in a container on their way from China (only found out as a result of query about lengthy delay in installation). Assumed I was buying from an Australian company whose products were manufactured in Australia. You have lost me Franklyn.

I would not recommend this business. I had shutters installed by them. Product good but had problem and was treated terribly. I made mistake and wanted to change order - not negotiable so they were happy to fit a product I didn't want. Not only that they bullied me into liking what I did not want. I gave in. No help at all. I went to another local company for stage 2 of renovation and bingo - best service ever and to my surprise 30% cheaper. Small problems just ironed out with style. Never want anything to do with Franklyns! Half our house was done in their products but they did not care when it came to making a change weeks away from installation. My order was floating on a ship from China so their attitude was 'too bad - so sad'. Posted by: Belinda Davis - Belmont

I am sorry to read of your disappointed review.
In my investigations, I noticed we have quoted you on two separate occasions. By your signed confirmations authorising Franklyn to proceed with the manufacture of your orders, I can only conclude that you were satisfied with your product choice and prices at point of sale.

With regards to your comment Franklyns were very inflexible & unhelpful when presented with problem unfortunately, these products had already been manufactured to your signed specification and were unable to be altered. Any changes made after the goods have been manufactured could have been completed at additional costs.

Salesman friendly and new our needs quickly, price was similar to other 2 quotes. Things went down hill from there; upstairs blind was installed the wrong way around, downstairs will only lower half way. Numerous contacts with company but no resolution accept pointing out our house is not built square. 5 months after quote we are still hoping to hear back from the company before we consider legal avenue.

I was nervous about choosing a company for our blinds since so many have bad reviews, so I had 4 companies come out and quote. Franklyns were by far the best price and had a great selection of materials. We got a full house and outside privacy blind. It took about 3 weeks from payment to install but that was quicker than others quoted. Very happy with the end result!

We had security screens and double security doors fitted. The security doors we supposedly powder coated galvanized in the main body but after a few years rust started to come through the powder coating. A call to the company could be summarized as too bad so sad. Disappointing and doubt we'd use them again.

I found this company to be very friendly and helpful. They have a good range of products and a nice showroom, where you can see these products. The sales staff know what they are talking about and the installers are very professional.
