Being a sunshine resident, I'm glad to have gold leaf as part of our suburb. It's a great restaurant, could easily be in the heart of the city and would not be misplaced. Great food, bustling on the weekends. You always know the place is good when the asian community congregate here.

The food and service at this restaurant is excellent. The menu is vast and you are lost trying to work out what you want to eat but you finally decide on something 'new' to try. Meals are all like small buffet meals with a delicious chinese dessert at the end of your meal. You need to be prepared to stay and enjoy your meal for a while because it will take you a while to get through your meal but you will definitely enjoy your time at this restaurant with all the yummy food on offer. This restaurant is always busy so don't go at the last minute because you won't find a table and you will be disappointed.

Very expensive. Hubby and I have been there a few times and tried different meals. The meat dishes are just average and I'm not sure about the quality of the meat. I can only eat the Lemon Chicken as this is (to my knowledge) the only dish using pure chicken breast fillets. All other pork/beef/chicken dishes we have tried weren't nice to chew on.
Hubby enjoyed the prawn/scallop dishes he's tried a lot. But it's way too expensive.

Living in the North East suburbs of Melbourne, I think that this venue of the chain is well worth the travel for good, value for money cantonese Yum Cha. Its packed to the brim and hard to move but the food is yummy and the quality is good too. Service could be better but Yum Cha is so busy its understandable that they take forever for off the menu orders and jugs of water! Lots of variety, Chicken feet and tripe to mainstream dim-sums. The venue isn't the prettiest and some of the add on rooms loot a bit dodge, but you dont eat the walls! 6 of us Usually pay $20-25 each for more food than we eat.

Gold Leaf Chinese Restaurant provides superb, traditional Chinese dishes in terms of yum cha and dumplings. However, service quality is a bit disappointing. We have once sat at a table for half an hour waiting for our tea to arrive.

Food is OK, a little expensive, service quality is horrible. Been there a dozen times, unless we order expensive dishes (such as lobster), else service quality is horrible, rushing you to finish and leave so that they can use the table to generate more revenue.

One of my family's favorite restaurant that doesn't disappoint for yum cha or dinner. It has the most variety for yum cha, food is always fresh and service is great especially for such a busy place. Price is not exactly cheap, but worth it for the variety and quality of food available. I have tried their other locations in Docklands, Burwood and Springvale but the Sunshine branch is the best in terms of food!

Great Chinese restaurant. You cant say no to the yumcha and dumplings that are served in the morning. They are delicious. Its location and setting is great however it can be squashy at times as it can get really busy.

Quite good food and environment. However, they need to find out a way to reduce the customers waiting time for being seated. The prices are also reasonably cheap.

Very busy restaurant that does not disappoint with its excellent Chinese cuisine. The yum cha at lunch is fresh, hot and delicious - Chinese doughnuts are divine. At dinner time, there is an extensive menu, including Chef's recommendations. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Really good and authentic Chinese food. If you go on a Saturday night they are really busy and you will probably have to wait each time you want a waiter, who more often than not, can speak limited English. The restaurant is huge, probably a bit too big it reminds me of a food court, but the food is excellent and good value for money.
