No it is not particularly pretty, or cool, or new
But it is consistent, reliable, delicious and hearty warming

The food here is good although they need to do something about their sweets. The cheesecake is often really nice and that is something that i would get when i am in Melbourne.

Good wholesome vegetarian food. Its cheap, its flavoursome and it just makes standard food better. Im not vegetarian but really enjoyed it. Would try again and order something different

Great selection of tasty vegetarian food. Always a favourite when I'm in the city low on cash. Very friendly staff and while it's often busy I always manage to find a seat which is fantastic.

Went for lunch last Saturday. The food is vegetarian, great, wholesome and very reasonably priced. I had the set menu for $11.50 and I loved it. I will definitely be going back.

Love this place. The food is always so tasty and there is a wide variery. Their desserts and the lassi is to die for. You can generally get a seat and the restaurant is always so clean.

I enjoyed the lentil sheppards pie and also pumpkin, basil, pine-nut salad. I go here often and love the Vegan options. I went here last a week ago. The food is always fresh and of a high quality. The staff are friendly and informative about the menu. Good quality for money. There should be more businesses like this. Highly recommended.

this, along with it's little sister crossways, was my saviour during uni years when money was tight. it is also a little haven right in the middle of the city, stepping through the door is like crossing a threshold into a little peaceful oasis. i've been veggie for 20 years and the food is always yum, with really friendly service. don't attend expecting to be waited on hand and foot with silver service though, it's not that type of place. just economical, healthy, yummy food served with a smile.

My friend found this place in his meandering around Melbourne city. We were served quite quickly, and the dude was so lovely offering me a glass of water after I had a coughing fit. The price for our meals was amazing and on a Uni student budget very grateful. We sat at the window with not a spectacular view of Swanston St, but it was perfect for the moment me and a good friend were having dinner.

I loved this place and am probably going back today, just don't expect a sit down Restaurant experience, think of it more as a cafeteria, if you don't you'll get a bit of a shock.
