We walked over to Granite Island and walked right around the island thinking we would stop at the cafe at the end of our walk but it was closed, this was a Saturday, also there are no longer any penguins on the island.

Another special day to celebrate so off to Victor Harbour. Walked across the causeway and had lunch in the Bistro. Seems to have changed operators and now has a more limited but adequate menu. Very friendly staff and when the food arrived it was a large serve and beautifully cooked. No tablecloths on tables, it is more a cafe with good food. Think it is now run by the National Parks etc. Still a nice experience but different from other reviews.

Currently have family over from Darwin and they wanted to visit Victor Harbor so of course we had to take them here. We really enjoyed the walk over and had a wonderful meal starting with some Mustard Damper, never tried this before - loved it! Also, we decided to have the Seafood Platter for 4 people it came with chips and dipping sauce (it was around $100, but for 4 people we thought that was pretty good value) the oysters and calamari tasted so fresh and delicious, an absolute must. The Greek salad really went well with it. Had a wonderful meal and really enjoyed the view. I felt the meals had improved since the last time we were here. Will be returning when our next lot of family visit.

Approximate cost: $16+

Walked across the causeway and had a coffee fix here. Spent quite a long time sitting on the deck sipping a very good coffee. It has such a wonderful setting and hearing the water lapping nearby is so restful. Another must do when I am visiting Victor

Had some NZ friends over for the day and decided to try out this bistro What a great decision.
All of us were seniors so after walking out to the island on the causeway We had lunch at this venue (previously untried even though we live in the area.
Great meal, brilliant price, but this would have meant absolutely nothing without the smiling girls who served us. They made the day and will ensure we go back again even without visitors.
Have spread the word at our retirement village.

Approximate cost: $52.00

It has been a while since I have been here, you have reminded me of how good it is. We also enjoyed walking across and then having a reasonably priced meal.

We have had a couple of meals here hoping for some improvement, unfortunately we've been quite disappointed each time now with the dishes we've had (crumbed calamari). A dish that should be super fresh and tasty in a prime SA location was rubbery and a little greasy (possibly frozen calamari?). We now only purchase drinks which is a shame s it is an awesome location.:(

Approximate cost: $22

Excellent food, I was plesantly surprised at this restaurant, expecting a largely touristy type restaurant however it was fantastic. Great service, highly recommended for locals and tourists alike.

Really good simple food, and a good bargain, not what you expect when you're on an island and can't go anywhere else! Beautiful location, often have whales, dolphins or seals to watch whilst eating dinner, beautiful evenings dining in summer.

Approximate cost: $15
