Now I know people usually don't write reviews online unless they've had a BAD experience. But I'm here to write about a fantastic experience I've had at great China Chinese medicine !
The doctor, Anna Chan, helped me a great deal over the past few months with my eczema., to great effect.
I will definitely recommend , and continue visiting this gem hidden away in Adelaide !
I would disregard the previous comment regarding costs etc , why don't you ask how much it would be IN TOTAL before the consultation?
I have always found them to be great with costs.
Best Chinese medicine doctor in Adelaide !

Approximate cost: $50

When I lived in Melbourne I had the most amazing Chinese Medicine Practitioner. She made me so happy and healthy, and I was so glad to be referred to her. I had been having migraines and she helped with those.

So I was so excited to visit Great China, but it didn't totally live up to my hopes. I want to give a clear and honest review of my experience to help others make their minds up.

During the initial call to book the appointment, I was told the fee was $50 including herbs.
When I went to the consultation, the doctor gave me some herb compresses to be put on the foot. These were not offered as an optional extra -rather she prepared them as the necessary course of treatment and THEN asked me for an extra $25 to cover them after they were prepared. So I paid more than what was discussed on the phone. If it is an extra, it would have been good to be offered the option- rather than be given them and then asked for the money, which put me in an awkward position.

2. I have frustrating mild allergies. I let the health professionals know this in the consultation, but the drinking herbs had one ingredient I'm allergic to. So I could only take them for a few days before I got hay fever symptoms from the liquorice (root) in them.

So; I think if you don't have allergies, their medicine might work. But if you do, make sure you check the ingredients thoroughly before accepting herbs. Also, be clear on what you're willing to pay and don't pay extra if you don't feel comfortable.

I won't go again, but I know that for someone without allergies, chinese medicine herbs - even if given haphazardly - can have benefits.

Your review was very interesting and I agree that you should be told of all costs upfront

This little clinic used to be on gouger st just opposite the central market. They have now moved to a side st off gouger st. It sells Chinese herbal teas, pills, ointments, raw herbs, powders... You name it. You can walk in and tell the your problem and they will tell what to take. Or you can sit down with the practitioner and she will make up some herbs specific for your condition. I was recommended here by a friend who was unable to conceive for many years. She had a baby after visiting dr anna chan for a few months! I was shocked how quickly my dermatitis healed!

Approximate cost: $40-50 consult including meds
