Classy modern salon with professional stylish hairdressers. Great atmosphere and great service.

Gritti Palace has been around for quite sometime now - they are not the cheapest around and it is hard to get a car park but the senior stylists/directors really know how to cut hair. I used them for many years - and only swapped due to my best friend becoming a hairdresser. I went back for a colour not too long ago as my friend was away and was still impressed with the service - funky, friendly and great drinks, neck massage and they have just re-vamped the salon as well. They are not cheap, but for a day of pampering I think it is worth it. If you are getting a cut, I would always book a Director or Senior Stylist first - they really are the best and although they can cost $50+ more, it is worth it.

I went in using a voucher. The treatment I received was terrible. I was supposed to get a glass of champagne on arrival which wasnt offered. I was meant to get a neck massge which never happened. The cut and colour was good but I was left in the basin for so long while they served others to the point where the back of my head went numb and I felt sick. The final product was great but not worth the money I would have paid had I not had a voucher.

Have been going to Gritti palace for a little while now, maybe a year or so. Every time i go there the service really is fantastic, am offered a cappuccino, glass of champagne etc when i arrive, all of the hairdressers are exceptionally talented. Renee in particular is very good. Always listen to what you want done and do exactly what you asked. It is a little pricey but you do get what u pay for. I usually get a wash, half head of foils (i have long hair), cut, blowdry which costs $180-$200. This includes a toner and complimentary massage! Salon is very nice, quite big and decorated beautifully.

Approximate cost: $200

I have now been accused by gritti palace about not being a customer of theirs as I could not have had this experience with them. I have the vouchers if they would like to see it. I had to ask for my complimentery drink and was left in complete discomfort in the the basin for what was for me far too long and created a numb spot.
