Really enjoyed the pizza, while sitting near the open wood fire, great to see local beers brewed on the premise available also

It was great, pizzas were fantastic. The wood fire oven and the funky chicken pizza were just brilliant. Really good beers also.

Great location for an informal dining experience with sensational beers, of course. Why serve spirits in a brewery? Best pizzas around though i had the soup special which is always great value.

Although the pizza was OK I was really disappointed that they only served beer and wine - no spirits which apparently don't enhance the grumpy experience. This is hardly a winery so don't get your hopes up. Pizza was fresh and the wedges were good. Best pizza in Adelaide - is in the Barossa.

This is the best pizza in the Adelaide Hills and unique atmosphere, nice to go for a drive and enjoy a casual pizza in winter

If you like your beer, then Grumpys is the place for you! They do their own microbrewing, making full bodied beers that can't be found anywhere else. On top of that, they pre-mix beer recipes so you can (try) to go home and replicate their beers with your own home brew kit. Staff is always friendly, making you feel like a local every time, and they prepare some magnificent pizzas too. Nothing like sitting down to a few pints of microbrew whilst eating pizza and chatting with friends!

The pizza is fantastic and the beers are good too. The staff are very friendly. When we visited they were quite busy so we had to go and sit out in the side room but it would have been nicer in the main section. The side room didn't have the nice atmosphere and the chairs in the were not very strong, a bigger person sat on one and the legs bent (oops). That aside, the Pizza topping combinations are very interesting and extremely yummy. I shared a Grumpy Goat (Wood oven semi-roasted pumpkin, blackened capsicum, olives, blanched spinach & Spanish onion, topped with Udder Delight's goat's curd and spring onion curls) and The Shroom (Field mushrooms, sliced tomatoes, kipfler potatoes with creamy marinated fetta and fresh herbs). Very yummy.

I discovered Grumpy's afew years ago, since then I have been there numerous times, my greatest wish is that I knew about them sooner.
If you are a lover of gourmet pizza, then this is the place to go. If you are a lover of special brewed beer then this is the place.
The wait time for the pizza can sometimes be long, but the beautifully cooked woodoven pizza makes up for it 100 times over.
The staff are always extremely friendly. And if your unsure what beer to try then speak to the owner, you can usually find him in the bar somewhere.
I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
