I went to Hair Culture in Merrylands yesterday and felt quite lost and disappointed. It took them a while to even notice me and serve me, I asked if they were busy and if they were able to do my hair they said you would only need to wait for 5 minutes. Assured by this five minutes it turned into 10minutes. This was just the beginning of my experience there. Anyway, not to be racist at all I could observe that many of the employees were proficient in English which I could tell was an issue for other customers who were waiting and customers who had enquiries. Which is quite embarrassing for a business. I went with the first package which was $55 which included a full colour of my choice. My hairdresser for the experience could barely speak English which was difficult anyways I chose to go with a full colour of brown hair. I spent over 2 hours there this included waiting around and having hairdressers notice that I am there. There customer service SKILLS IS APPPAULING!!!!!!!! FIND ANOTHER HAIRDRESSER.
In the end, my hair was blow dried and only my roots had the brown hair the hairdresser couldn't give me an appropriate answer for her TERRIBLE SERVICE! NOT going there ever again!!!

I am writing this to help others not go through what i have with this terribly run hairdresser salon. I am absolutely livid after my experience here & the disgusting customer service & unprofessionalism displayed by staff and management. I had balayaged hair ( brown & blond highlights ) when i walked into the salon which had grown out a bit and asked for it to be fixed up & made less orange & a less golden blonde. I showed pictures to the young girl who was my hairdresser and she seemed to know what she was doing. I knew something was wrong when i was left at the basin for at least and hour and a half and could see them putting more toner or bleach or whatever it was in my hair. The girl kept calling the manager over and whispering and i was worried at this stage. When they dried my hair it was almost white. It looked like i had regrowth already and the contrast between my hair at the top and my almost white hair which looked like a wig at the bottom was absolutely disgusting. When my hair was clipped up it looked like i had a mop on my head. There was also two orange streaks on either side of my hair and when i asked her about it she said oh yes thats because it didn't take to your hair there and your hair was splitting so i didn't want to leave it in any longer. Ok so that is ok ???? I said i want it fixed & they said to come back another day. I was there for 7 hours & balayage should take around 3 hours ! I asked for money off and i was told but you are coming back in to get it fixed they said. Yes.. because i want to spend another day of my holidays at your salon having your mistakes fixed up? They ended up taking 30 dollars off so i paid $120. I came back yesterday & i was told that there is not much they can do as my hair is so beached and damaged and that it would still have orange streaks through it and be two different colours. My only choice was to have a dark brown colour put in which was the complete opposite to what i went in there for. I asked to have the difference in price from the 120 for balayage to the 55 dollars it costs for a full colour paid back as thats what i had to have in the end to fix my hair and i was told they would not allow that. I then had to come back a third time to have the ends toned to even the dark brown colour out and i have now walked out with the top and bottom darker than the other day. After over 10 hours in three days at the salon and paying 120 dollars for balayage and walking out with almost black hair and a section of my hair on the right which has red and blonde tone not matching the rest of the hair they had the audacity to tell me that if i wanted a blow dry i would have to pay $35!!!!! I would not give your salon another cent. I have never written a review about a place before but i had to write this one. The lack of customer service & professionalism at this place is like nothing i have ever experienced. Have you never heard of keeping your customers happy? If you care about your hair then do not go to this place. I wish i could add photos here but i cant. I wish i had seen the reviews before i went as i have now read so many who have gone through the same experience as i have.

Staff can very very rude, arrogant and unhelpful. Prices were good at one stage but have shot up. The last time I had a colour and cut, the colour was great, the cut is straight forward but when having my hair straightened, the girl was rude, haphazard and yanked at knots rather than working them out. Left with a sore scalp due to rough treatment. Staff are often late to open up and remain on their mobile phone whilst the queue at the front of store grows bigger. Staff are often clueless when you ask for something simple and are rude when you rephrase yourself 3 times over.

They offer very cheap packages and that was the reason why I came here to get a full colour and cut done. Colour turned out well. The cut was satisfactory. Didn't turn out how I pictured it to be but then again, my uncertainty may have contributed to that! I walked out of the salon satisfied but not amazed.
In terms of service, the girl who did my hair was knowledgeable and helpful. I showed her pictures, she asked lots of questions to ensure I was going to be happy with the cut. At the end of the day, I was satisfied. The cut turned out 90% the way it appeared in the pictures apart from a few minor things but that was easily fixed.

This salon, while very cheap, had really rude and unapproachable staff. Last time I was here I felt the lady that worked on my hair was not adequately trained and it was very difficult to consult with her. I came here for a cut and colour I had an idea of what I wanted but I asked the hairdresser for her "expert" opinion and she just shrugged her shoulders and seemed most disinterested. In the end I was very unhappy with my colour. I had bleached hair that I was colouring darker and I even asked if my hair needed a filler before colouring and the lady dismissively said nah. Well, the hair colour turned incredibly brassy in a few days and looked horrible. I do not recommend this salon.
