Every time we get into CBD for breakfast, Hardware Society is our top ten choice. Fantastic ambience, friendly service, and great food. The fun thing about going to this place is that you can sit down watching all CBD white and blue collars rushing in for their coffee. It's such a pumping environment that I rarely see in suburban. My favorite dish is "Fried egg" which consists of prosciutto, water cress, Parmesan cheese, and two fried eggs served on olive bread. Baked egg is equally good. The only downside of this place is that the food price is a little bit expensive but that could only be The CBD standard IMO. Like I said, this is not the place for 'everyday meal' but the best if you'd like to have a great breakfast once you go to the city.

Me and my Uni friends had brunch + coffee & tea in Hardware Societe....

It was fully packed... we were on sorta a waiting list - we waited around 15-20 mins to get a table...

well, I must say the food was excellent.. I had the salmon with peas and broadbeans... Very delicious! Great Value...

The service was nice and friendly .. Definitely gonna return!

Not a lot of options for vegetarians (particularly vegans or those with diary allergies) and the kitchen is unwilling re menu adjustments to accommodate allergies.
The food itself creative, and food quality is reasonable, but you do pay for it.

Approximate cost: $15-25

I really loved the daily special they had on! I tried the red pepper bell one. A small cosy cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and alot to offer. Everything looked really delicious. The staff were friendly and warm and described dishes to us when we were not familiar with them.
Definitely a great place for a good chat over some good food

Approximate cost: $10-20

Quirky little cafe that does Breakfast and lunch! Look out for specials like paella, steak and other reasonably priced dishes. Supreme coffee is excellent or try the baked eggs, macarons or chocolate pudding. Owned by a husband and wife team that previously ran beetroot. They offer a lovely cafe with lovely service.

Approximate cost: $15
