As a tenant I couldn't be happier with service from Harris Leech & Vanesschka

I rented a property with Harris Leech as the rental agent from 2010 to April 2020 - nearly 11 years! The property was sold after I lived at the address for a few years so I had two different landlords. Harris Leech were with me for more than half of my working life and I am so grateful I was able to have such a settled life during such an extended period of time - no hassles dealing with agents, all communications above board, just very quick simple replies to any issues I had to raise.

I could see that they were excellent at looking after the landlords needs while also making sure the tenant was able to live in peace. If it was a problem with the body corporate that needed to be addressed, they were right onto the relevant person.

The last few years Vanesschka was the rental agent looking after the property and she was amazing and very easy to deal with.

What surprised me most is that we never had any problems fulfilling our obligations to pay the rent but there was the odd occasion when we were forgetful and did pay a day or two late. That said, we were told that Vanesschka gave us great rental references when we moved.

Approximate cost: $1500

They are very unprofessional. their level of communication is zero and I had to follow them for three years in some cases but they are only ignoring me! be careful with their systems as they have some trick to deceive you. They have created a online contract system which when you want to sign the contract you are not able to see the terms and conditions in the first page and it is hidden somewhere and they easily add some stuff which you are not aware of. they change the leasing contract dates without me noticing!
be careful if you are dealing with them

Rented Harris leech for 12 months.
Very bad the responding to urgent repairs.
Very unresponsive to phone calls and emails.
Avoid please, it will save money and time long term in moving again.

Harris Leech have managed our apartment rental for the last nearly couple of years and have found them to be very efficient and easy to work with. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an agent to manage their investment property. They take the hard work out of leasing and managing your property. Very professional. Our agent, Nathan, has been extremely helpful.

Had too many issues and they try to command the tenant .

HAd a long fight to replace the AC unit which took 2 months despite threatening them I will go to tenancy tribunal.
Then I still haven't got the balcony keys and toilet door not working. After 6 months of moving in. sigh
There is one rusted table in backyard posing health hazard which they dint clear.
Now they say that they will come to my home for inspection even though I am not at home. I said I cant allow anyone at home in my absence. I get a response saying they are coming no matter what. Ridiculous people.
They are so rude.
I will never go with these people nor recommend anyone.

I have recently starting renting through Harris Leech. First off they made the application process a stressful and demoralising experience, they have called me names to my face (something I would ordinarily not let happen but unfortunately I really wanted the property they were leasing so I pretended to laugh along).
They have not made the process easy by only having me attend their office at their agreed times, pay extra rent in advance because of their certain way of accepting rental payments which is unlike any other real estate I have ever come across and the process to complete their documentation is not use friendly whatsoever.
I have found that they ignore every single question I ask them and only communicate what they want me to hear.
I am a customer service professional, I am a mature reasonable adult and I deal with everyone I come across professionally and personally with decency and respect but this real estate makes me feel like a child and I almost want to cry when I have to speak with them.
I dread the day I might require them for something in my property but for now I just hope to move in and pay my rent and never have to speak with any of them ever again.

After applying for a rental, they called me saying I was the preferred applicant HOWEVER I would have to move in early sign up for 2 years agree to a rent rise and decide now about it because there was another applicant waiting.

If you are used to "apply", "get accepted", "move in" just be aware there seems to be a negotiation phase after the "get accepted" with this agency where they will play you off against other applicants.

I rented a property with these guys, really hard to deal with, rude alot of the time and they seem to not care that you are a customer as a tenant. Very disappointed with them.
