Before I moved from next door to HN, I used to shop there all the time, mainly as it was easy as it was so close. But, I won't be shopping there anymore. having now shopped at other retailers, I find the level of service, knowledge of products, helping nature etc, all poor.
Yes they will always discount the price, but what retailer won't!!! On the whole I find them just interested in getting to to sign the visa card slip, and move on the the next person

Yikes, yikes and more yikes. We went to HN for an oven and we got a whole lot more! While the salesman was ok and friendly enough, and we got a discount, we thought we were onto a good thing. When the oven arrived in stock we thought we'd get it delivered so paid the fee. They wouldn't deliver to our area on a weekend, so I organised a friend to chill at my place for the day. A bit inconvenient for him. Rang them to check it was all happening and they had no idea what I was talking bout. Seems they forgot to make our delivery. Salesman rang to apologise which was good. Ended up organising a courier to deliver it. It arrived when I got home from work, which means mate could have been doing his own thing. Then found out, they'd forgot 3 of the other parcels. Ended up having to go back in there next day and pick em up myself. Not happy Jan. Won't be back.

Recently our household purchased a new flat screen television. The salesperson that attended to us was very helpful and gave us a great deal on the accessories for the television. However, we purchased a television that came with a DVD player. The DVD player could only be redeemed online from a different company. Unfortunately the salesperson forgot to mention that. We were told that we should pick the DVD player up with the TV the following week.

When we returned to pick up the Television, our order was lost 'somewhere'. Resulting in a further wait. After returning for the 3rd time we were then informed about the online redemption with the other company and the admittance of the salesperson saying that he was having a 'bad day that day' and forgot to tell us about the online redemption.

We now have to wait a month as the redemption period expired and we are currently sorting out the loose ends.

I am disappointed with the lack of this salesperson and on the whole, Harvey Norman for loosing our order 'somewhere'.

I possibly will go back, i'll just make sure they tell me everything and that I take the item with me that day.

I needed to buy a desk and they were very very helpful giving me plenty of details regarding the unit and also the sizes that would fit in my space, they also were helpful with the price and gave me a discount.

Electrical Dept (Fridges) - Staff stood around talking to each other (not serviing other customers), took 15 min to get their attention, then gave me 2 min and a few product facts them said they would leave me to look on my own. I got the impression I was an interuption. I have been into this dept an numerous occasions and have found it difficult to get customer service. It is with reluctance I go back.

Left standing unserved for ages with salespeople standing around talking to each other. Then they lost our photo's, along with at least two other customers that were there when I was. The girl serving didn't even apologise, it was clear she couldn't be bothered and wasn't interested, and we found out later she was the manager of that section. Hopefully it was a one of bad day, I guess we'd give them another chance. They do have a really good range of products, from furnishing to electrical and all sorts of other stuff, but the service definately lets them down.
