Twice in the past 12 months I found this store is more expensive comparing to other Harvey Norman stores and some of its practices have been questionable.
I discover this first in June 2014 when I took a picture of a heavily discounted vacuum in Harvey Norman city store to this store on the same day (I didn't want to carry it all the way from the city): this store had it at the full original price, about 2.5 times higher. Yes, they done the "special" price for me and I felt they knew very well what was the correct price.
In May 2014, we took pictures of furniture from Nunawading store and brought our business to Maribyrnong store because the lady at the Maribyrnong store seemed sincere when we visited earlier. Guess again: the dinner set were marked about $200 higher, the sofa's RRP was $200 higher (the Nunawading salesperson checked on computer and told us the RRP) and the Barrel chair's RRP is $100 higher! We finally decided to settle for the prices matching the Nunawading store. It was 5.30 pm closing time and the two girls waiting to pack up the green envelops (financial documents, used gift cards, etc) had no hesitation to show us how upset they were because we were still there. All together, we spent about 5k in that store that day!

I moved to Maribyrnong last few months, and visited Harvey Norman just to check prices coz I'm certain that I will buy online from others, but to my surprise, they offer very good price (including the 5 years warranty)..and im lucky to be 'served' by the manager and he really gave me a good price that I cant even declined.. I bought almost everything from HN, including my sofa set, fridge, washer, microwave, vacuum, TV as well as printer..

I have often purchased computers and other electrical items at Harvey Norman. When I went there recently the service really let me down. The sales staff didn't know their stock and told me things about the products I later found to be untrue about an item I was looking at. Their prices weren't great - they said they'd match other prices but they couldn't give me a compeditive price on their own.

I have purchased many household items from Harvey Norman Maribyrnong and they have offered me the best service and the best possible price every time. They always beat any genuine price elsewhere. They go out of their way to win your business. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

These guys are in one of the toughest retail strips in Melbourne. Which is why I seem to continually get amazing prices. Because of their surrounding competition they don't back away from cheap prices. How they differ from other retailers around them is their service. An absolutely outstanding team of salespeople work here (even though I have my favorites). They truly go above and beyond. The knowledge of the white goods sales people is unparalleled. I decked out my recent kitchen reno with appliances from Harvey Norman Maribyrnong. They have a great display and again, the knowledge is awesome. Service, the best advice & the best price. I'm a happy camper.
