A little background info. I have been residing in London for the last decade for career purposes, and from that have been lucky enough to have had some amazingly talented hairdressers work their magic on my luscious locks. Lets face it, i'm not a girlie girl, but still like edgy, femine, fashion forward and slightly avante garde styles that manage to still not cross over to the 'butch' genre - (and yes i have lesbian friends so dont go getting all offended, it's merely for descriptive purposes). I was in Burleigh Heads doing a spot of shopping and realised a funky looking (well for the gold coast) new salon that had the impression of being cutting edge... I was excited. I went in and asked if they had a service menu or could give me a roundabout price for a hair cut. I have no quarms with paying for quality, and as i was told their existed a tier structure with the pricing of haircuts at Heaven and it was based on the stylists experience and talent. A staff member there had been in the industry for years, has won some well recognised awards, and produced some excellent photographic work. I booked in for an appointment as there was a wait for this person. I was excited and stoked that i was going to get s super rad hair cut that i have been craving since my return from overseas. To cut a long story short I waited for way to long to been seen, although frequently asked by the staff if i needed any refreshments or magazines. I even had a good conversation with two of the other staff members that made me feel like the wait was ok. i was seated in a chair and began talking to teh stylist that was doing my cut. I let him know what i like, what i didnt want and pretty much asked what his vision was with those boundaries. He described it to me and i was sold.... However from the first snip i knew it had all gone pair shaped.... He had gone way to short - to the point where my long bobish length was not much more than an inch or two over a majority of my head. I didnt realise shorter at the back meant almost shaved... not only was what i had been told and the outcome two totally different things, i felt uncomfortable with the stylist telling me how amazing i look when clearly i was upset on the inside. I though paying a high price would have giving me a much better style, but unfortunately i paid a high price for something my sister could have done with a pair of kitchen scissors. I left disappointed, ugly and will not return again, even though everything else seemed ok with the salon... My friends were shocked, i was embarrassed and have been growing my mop out ever since. BAD EXPERIENCE.

Fantastic! It is very difficult to find not only a hairdresser that listens but an overall atmosphere of team work and unity amongst colleagues.

I was introduced to the salon through purchasing a Scoupon voucher, however will definitely be recommending David and manager Nathan to colleagues and friends who I know will be provided with the same world class service that I received.

I bought a voucher online. I have previously been to a Heaven Salon in Brisbane with mixed results but thought I would give it a go anyway. A cut and colour for $70 was worth the risk.
Nathan was my hairdresser, and what a breath of fresh air he was. He really listened to me. As I explained I was just starting menopause and feeling a bit down (also my hair changing texture), so I needed something that made me feel good, and was easy to maintain. However as I just starting a business it needed to be professional as well. He listened and I got what I wanted.
I am sure if I went back after my business was secure and wanted something a bit more daring he would have no problem ramping it up for this semi-oldie. Nathan does not chit chat about benign subjects (thank goodness); but will have real conversations, and when he is really concentrating there are comfortable silences.
He did up sell me but it was for services I wanted, and I did not feel pressurd.
I will be going back to Nathan again
