I know this place has a good reputation , however when I left my dog there over Easter and picked her up on the Tuesday morning, my dog was handed to me without a word of what had happened to her tail. To my disappointment my dog had over 2 inches of exposed bone at the end and no fur, this was constantly bleeding and causing my dog pain. When I rang the kennel back , I was told it was known as " excitable lab tail" ! She hits her tail against the wire fence and it must have ripped of her fur..... When I took her to the vet , the vet said " hmphhh , highly unlikely it's more like a chemical burn".. So after $185 later and some bandages as well as the likely outcome being a amputation to at least 5 to 6 inches of her tail at a cost over $500, I confronted the homestead management of the information the vet gave me . Their response was " no way!!! We would not have chemicals around the dogs or cats" They told me they would speak to the vet and find out the exact conclusion and let me know.. That was nearly a month ago now and I still have a dog that I am buying bandages and constantly re applying in the hope that the fur grows back. No conclusion..... And big expense bills for a place that is in trust and care of your pet ( like a child going to day care )....

We were so disappointed that you took advantage of our late booking request last December and charged an unreasonable amount, far in excess of what we have paid at other kennels. You dressed this up as a gold service but there was no evidence that you actually provided us or our dog with anything beyond the norm.

I have boarded my dogs for periods as short as 1 day and as long as 6 weeks, many times and nothing has proved to much for the staff at this facility. At any time during the day, I have phoned enqiring after the welfare of my animals, the staff , answering the phone have a wonderful phone manner, have always been extremely pleasant and well informed regarding my family (pets), and at no time has this been an inconvenience to the staff. I would only use Homestead Kennels to board my family pets as I know the care and concern that they show for each animal. I have also taken advantage of the highly skilled staff in the area of dog training and arranged for dog training to occur whilst my dogs were being boarded. When I came to pick up my dogs, the excellent hand over that I was given by the staff involved, and the condition of my dogs, I could not be happier with Homestead Kennels. All my questions were answered, and the additional after care that I was given was greatly appreciated. Finally whenever I have come to collect my family pets, they have always been happy, and thoroughly washed and clean, with their coats glowing. The staff handling each of my dogs do a brilliant job. Well done.

Very clean, warm kennels. Friendly, approachable and caring staff who love animals and understand just how hard it is to leave an adored member of the family in the care of others. I'll definately be using this terrific kennel when I next go away. Very impressed & happy customer. Thanks again Rod and all your staff
