I occasionally eat at Hot Poppy for a quick and well priced snack or lunch in a casual atmosphere. Outside can be nice in sun or inside cosy in this small cafe.

The food here is really good but you'll wait for ever to get served on a weekend - we waited an hour for our meals. Visit in the evening as the service seems to be much better.

Approximate cost: $20.00

I met up with some friends here for brunch on Sunday. As far as cafes go, it's fairly non-descript but it turned out to be a great place to catch up. The food and coffees were good and the freshly squeezed juices were excellent. I thought the staff were especially switched on - leaving us alone when we were talking and right there when we were after something. We were lucky to have the comfy seats up the front which was ideal as one friend had a pram and her baby.

Approximate cost: $12

Hot Poppy is not a bad little cafe. It seems to be open all the time and the food if quite good and the coffee is not bad. The staff are friendly and on a Friday night they often have a jazz group playing.

Approximate cost: $15
