Cool burger joint in the bustling area of Fitzroy. Small shop with minimal seating inside but sufficient seating outside so ideal in summer/spring. Burgers are flavoursome & add ons or take off are friendly accepted!

Definitely the best burgers in Melbourne. Fresh ingredients including grass fed beef, iceberg lettuce, slightly sweet buns and American Mustard. Chicken burgers are super yummy too!

Best burger in Melbourne. There is no question. Be warned, the buns are greasy, the way they should be. Fast and reasonably priced, best priced - be sure to add bacon.

Have eaten here a few times, and to be honest fail to see what all the hype is about. Sure, the burgers are nice, the ingredients fresh, and I enjoyed the meal on the whole.. but no 'wow' factor. Nothing made the place stand out like some other reviews have lead me to believe it should, and the only reason for my repeat business has been convenience.

I've heard a lot of great things about Huxtaburger but I'm unsure if they live up to the hype. The burgers are nice but nothing special, and the chips could do with some more seasoning or a better flavour. There is limited seating inside so best to takeaway. I did have a fantastic caramel milkshake here though so I do recommend them. If you're in the area check it out, but I wouldn't travel across town for them.

Personally I don't see what all the fuss is about! I got a Theo which wasn't bad but not worth $12 in my opinion. The burgers themselves need to be bigger to be worth that amount of money if you ask me. Nice decor and friendly staff though!

Lots of hype about this burger joint but I don't get it. Only beef burgers available and no vegetarian option. Chips are a little on the dry side, but the brioche buns do make it a winner. Crazy busy if you attempt to head here and eat on a nice sunny work day. They do take phone orders so you can maximise your lunch break

Great place for burgers (as the name suggests). Service is usually fast and friendly. Try the huxtaburger with chipotle fries, all good. Great for lunch. eat in better than take-away as the burger goes cold by the time you can eat don't eat it soon.

Came here for lunch with a friend, we decided to meet at 11.30am which was their opening time. I had heard from another friend who had tried Huxtaburgers say that it's really hard to get a seat and that the last time he had a burger, it didn't taste very nice. (We later decided it was because they had ordered the burgers as takeaway and left them for a while so they got soggy, so the recommendation is eat it fresh)

My friend and I each ordered the original Huxtaburger and some chips. We weren't given a number or receipt so I'm not sure how they would identify customers when it gets really busy.

We sat outside next to the road at one of their tables, and true to my other friend's account, it did get really packed really fast, before we even got our food, there was already a line going out the door for people waiting to order. Half way through our meal, two other customers asked if they could share our table as there was no other available seats. The tables are wide enough that it's not awkward to be sitting/eating next to strangers, if you're with friends you could probably squish in 3 on each side of the table.

To be quite honest, I'm not sure what we would have done if we had gotten there later, ordered to eat in, and not had anywhere to sit. So we were very glad to have gotten in early.

The chips were your average normal crinkle cut deep fried chips. The burger was actually really tasty. My friend said it's all in the bun. And I must say I agree completely. I have no idea how they make it but it was slightly crisp but very soft if that makes any sense. She thinks they add butter to their buns to make them taste so good. It did have a slight buttery feel to it. But it was definitely worth the amount I paid for it. The sauce was also amazing and wasn't too runny. I used a napkin to wrap around the burger to prevent everything shifting when I took a bite.

I definitely want to go back for the burger. They have a few others so I might try them out!

So final notes, get there early if you want a seat, if you're getting take away, don't leave it for too long before eating it, and the burger goes really well with chips (but what burger doesn't?).

Approximate cost: $9
