Visited this restaurant as using a Living Social voucher, which meant our meals were mostly set.

Entree we had some satay chicken skewers, spring rolls, curry puffs and a tom yum soup. Out of these, I mostly enjoyed the curry puffs, they weren't overly fried and were still relatively soft to bite into.

For mains we had a few options for either stir fries or curries. I ate the curry. We also had the option of Jasmine rice or Coconut rice. We chose the coconut rice and it was lovely. The two curries I was able to try were the red curry and the yellow curry. Both were quite nice but I liked the yellow curry more. Mains also included roti with a peanut curry dip.

My parents and their friends who ate the stir fries, said there wasn't enough of a stir fry taste when it came to the meat. The sauce was okay and the meat was cooked alright, but all in all it wasn't anything special.

The curries were definitely a hit with everyone and everyone enjoyed the coconut rice as well.

For dessert we had a scoop of ice cream each with a biscuit and apple slices.

It wasn't a bad meal but it wasn't overly spectacular. Definitely give it a go if you're in the area, but for me to travel there just for the food I probably wouldn't.

The service here was lovely though. Our waiter was very friendly and was able to handle a lot of questions with a lot of people talking over one another.

Came here for dinner with my parents and ordered Loh Mee ($9.80), Hainanese chicken rice ($9.30) and green curry chicken rice ($9.30). For dessert I had a fried ice cream ($5.50).

Service was friendly and relatively quick. The Hainanese chicken rice was really nice. The rice itself was not too soft, not too hard and not too dry, it was absolutely perfect. The chicken was also very smooth and cooked to perfection. I would definitely go here again to eat this dish.

I tried some of the Loh Mee and found it to have a very strong vinegar taste which my dad told me was how it's supposed to taste with a bit of a sour kick to it. My mum said it wasn't that great as opposed to some that she's had elsewhere.

The green curry chicken rice was alright, not very memorable. Not a bad dish but I would rather try the normal curry next time. My mum liked this dish though.

The fried ice cream was really sweet. They had melted sugar over the top which was nice, but as it melted, and sank to the bottom, it meant the last few spoonfuls of it was extremely sweet. But other than that it was pretty good.

I would definitely go here again, the prices were really good for what we ordered and service was fast.

Went here last night for a friend's birthday, we had booked ahead which I think was definitely a good idea considering we had 10 people.

As soon as we entered the door, you could smell the charcoal bbq (in a good way! It made us so hungry). We had brought our own cake which the staff immediately offered to put in the fridge for us. They were very friendly and very welcoming. And unlike many other Korean restaurants, this one was not understaffed which is definitely good if you like good service.

The restaurant was full and had a great atmosphere. One thing I really liked here was the air vents. Normally Korean restaurants have them set in one spot, meaning the charcoal or the stove has to go in that one particular spot. Marroo had it set up connected to bars along their roof which they can slide along the table. This meant the vents could be perfectly aligned to the stoves.

The service here was great, and the food didn't take too long to be served. We also ordered rice wine which was served after a few dishes arrived at our table. Not sure if this was because of how long it took to make the rice wine or because they always serve it with the food (we actually ordered the rice wine about 5 minutes before we ordered food). We tried four different flavours of rice wine (Peach, Watermelon, Grape and Pear) and all four tasted amazing. The watermelon was really refreshing and some people commented that the peach one tasted more creamy than the others. So it comes down to personal preference as to which flavour was best.

The food tasted amazing. I would definitely go back and would happily order the exact same thing. We had the spicy seafood rice cake (ddeokbokki), deep fried chicken with sweet chilli sauce and kimchi soup. And for the BBQ we had fresh pork belly, spicy pork belly and beed brisket. Everything tasted so good.

A lot of the time deep fried chicken goes really dry but this was cooked to perfection and the sauce was absolutely delicious as well. The rice cakes in the ddeokbokki were also cooked beautifully. They weren't overly chewy or overly soft to the point of being mushy; everyone on our table loved it. The kimchi soup was great too. Ingredients wise it was similar to ones I've had elsewhere, but the soup itself was really nice. Some places overload the kimchi soup with spices but this one wasn't.

The meat was as you'd expect, pretty nice, though sometimes you might need to cook it yourself so keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn. The spicy pork belly was really nice, similar to the kimchi soup, some places tend to make it so spicy you can't really taste anything else. Marroo has it so you can taste the spice but it doesn't overpower everything else.

We also ordered rice which was the purple coloured rice where they've added beans into it. The rice was cooked well too, not too dry, not too soggy and not too hard. Even the birthday girl, who normally hates beans and won't eat rice that has added beans, thought the rice was great.

I really enjoyed this meal. It was great food, great drinks and great people. I would definitely come again. The only thing I can say is it's a little bit pricey. Not overpriced though! Some of the serving sizes didn't quite reflect the price, so if you're not sure, definitely ask when you're ordering. I would say however, that the price most definitely reflects the quality of the food you are getting. There are absolutely no complaints I have about the food or the service. I would love to come here again and try some of their other items.

Came here with two friends for all you can eat yumcha around 1.30pm for $18.90 per person (minimum two people). When my friend told me where we were eating I was a little hesitant because I had been told the quality of food was extremely poor. However I was pleasantly surprised.

The food was actually quite decent. Though I'm not sure whether it was because of how it was made or one had been made earlier than the other, but one dish we ordered two of, and one was miles ahead in terms of taste and texture. So I guess the quality can fluctuate every now and then. But I wouldn't write it off just because of that.

I would say definitely go here if you just want to eat heaps of yumcha dishes because for $18.90 you can eat as much as you like.

Though I'm not sure if it was because we were there late (we were one of three tables) that we just constantly had a waitress hovering at our tabled asking if we wanted anything else. Not sure if they were trying to get us to eat faster so we would leave or what it was exactly. Felt a little awkward because it did feel like they were rushing us a bit. Towards the end of our meal they were already starting to change the tables over for their dinner trade.

All in all I would come here again. The food was good, the price is decent, service was alright as well.

Been here a few times. I either order the chicken stir fried crispy noodles or the crispy skin chicken rice. Both are quite nice with a decent amount of chicken. I've been to some restaurants that give a tiny amount of chicken which I find ridiculous in comparison to how much noodles or rice you are getting.

The chicken isn't overcooked and really nice to eat. For the noodles they come out beautifully crispy with that lovely crunch to it, and the crispy skin chicken is amazing as well. Some restaurants go overboard to the point the skin is almost burnt and quite hard to eat, this skin is very crispy and very nice to eat.

I would definitely eat here again, though I should probably try more than just my two favourite dishes. The food also comes out pretty fast after you've ordered it and tea is complementary on your table.

I heard the ramen here was amazing and was left utterly disappointed. I ordered the Pork Belly Hakata Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen which cost just under $15. The portion size for the price I paid was probably smaller than I expected. In other words I could get a bigger serve for a cheaper price elsewhere.

I didn't mind paying the $15 at first because I had heard wonderful things about the ramen here. But after my first bite I really didn't think it was worth the money I paid. Or maybe I did get what I paid for - in salt form.

The entire dish was so salty I was only a few bites in before I had to down two glasses of water. I couldn't finish much of it because it was so salty. I thought it might have just been the broth that was too salty and resorted to eating the noodles without drinking any soup, but turns out the noodles were somewhat salty as well.

Now just for clarification, I'm not someone who doesn't eat much salt which may have led to me thinking this ramen was too salty. I probably get told off for how much salt I put on my fries. But this was so much more salty than anything I've ever eaten.

There was one piece of pork belly in the ramen which was cooked fairly well and pretty nice to eat. But that's about all I enjoyed about it.

I might consider going back to try some of their other items, but I definitely won't order the same thing again.

If anyone has any recommendations for any other menu items I should try out please let me know! It's so hard to find good ramen in Melbourne!

Came here for lunch with a friend, we decided to meet at 11.30am which was their opening time. I had heard from another friend who had tried Huxtaburgers say that it's really hard to get a seat and that the last time he had a burger, it didn't taste very nice. (We later decided it was because they had ordered the burgers as takeaway and left them for a while so they got soggy, so the recommendation is eat it fresh)

My friend and I each ordered the original Huxtaburger and some chips. We weren't given a number or receipt so I'm not sure how they would identify customers when it gets really busy.

We sat outside next to the road at one of their tables, and true to my other friend's account, it did get really packed really fast, before we even got our food, there was already a line going out the door for people waiting to order. Half way through our meal, two other customers asked if they could share our table as there was no other available seats. The tables are wide enough that it's not awkward to be sitting/eating next to strangers, if you're with friends you could probably squish in 3 on each side of the table.

To be quite honest, I'm not sure what we would have done if we had gotten there later, ordered to eat in, and not had anywhere to sit. So we were very glad to have gotten in early.

The chips were your average normal crinkle cut deep fried chips. The burger was actually really tasty. My friend said it's all in the bun. And I must say I agree completely. I have no idea how they make it but it was slightly crisp but very soft if that makes any sense. She thinks they add butter to their buns to make them taste so good. It did have a slight buttery feel to it. But it was definitely worth the amount I paid for it. The sauce was also amazing and wasn't too runny. I used a napkin to wrap around the burger to prevent everything shifting when I took a bite.

I definitely want to go back for the burger. They have a few others so I might try them out!

So final notes, get there early if you want a seat, if you're getting take away, don't leave it for too long before eating it, and the burger goes really well with chips (but what burger doesn't?).

Came here for a lunch on a Thursday with a friend. Pretty easy to get a table. Ordered the Crispy Chicken with rice. Normally at Vietnamese or Chinese restaurants, you get a small bowl of soup or broth when you order a rice dish, but this store didn't have that. Tea as usual was provided free at the table in flasks.

Nothing to complain about in terms of the food. It was alright, the skin was crispy which was good. Chicken was pretty good and wasn't too dry. Same goes for the rice which was relatively moist and nice to eat.

Not sure if I would return since I don't go Sunshine very often. For Vietnamese or Chinese food I tend to go to Footscray. But if I was in Sunshine I would consider returning here.

Suggested by a friend who had tried Pepper Lunch in Hong Kong. On a 40 degree day I wasn't sure it was such a good idea since they say the plates are heated to 260 degrees. But really glad I decided to go because the food was great and the shop is well air conditioned.

Not sure if they take reservations because it's a order/pay at counter and take the number and pick a table and they serve to you at your table. So in a sense it's like fast food.

There are a few different options of food, and you can view the menu on their website. Some come with rice and some don't so make sure to ask if you're not sure. You also have the option to change it to a meal deal where you can get a side and a drink/soup with the main dish.

I ordered the "Hitokuchi" Cut steak at $11.00 and opted to add cheese for an extra $1. I also got the deal which was an additional $3.95 which gave me the option of rice or chips plus either a soup or drink.

I am not a big fan of pepper so I was glad to have the cheese to cover some of the pepper taste. The meat is served with a side of beanshoots, some peapods and some carrot slices.

The staff here are really friendly and I think since they're still very new, they ask if you've been there before and if you know how to cook it. Even around the plate there is a paper ring with instructions. If that's not enough, on one of their screens behind the counter, there are instructional videos showing how to cook/mix your meal. The paper ring also serves as a reminder to not touch the plate when they first serve it to you as it is extremely hot.

I actually went here for lunch and dinner on the same day and ordered the same thing both times. The first time, the cheese was already on top of the meat when it was served to me. The second time, the cheese was in a little bowl and I could opt to add as much or as little as I wanted. Both work well but I think I got more cheese when it was in a separate bowl.

They have a variety of soft drinks on tap as well as some bottled ice tea in the fridge. Water is self serve. I think they also have the option of salads there but I'm not sure since none from our table ordered salad.

Overall I really enjoyed the food here and definitely plan on returning. The main gimmick for the store is that you can cook your own meat to your own liking so you can have it rare or fully cooked. (From what I gathered in the videos, the beanshoots are there for you to rest your meat on once you've decided it's cooked to your liking). I've also been told the pepper rice is really nice so I'll have to give that a go next time as well. For the rice dishes, you also have the option to add kimchi for $2.

Came here for a late dinner around 10pm on a Monday night. They offered dine in and takeaway. We opted for eat in.

I ordered the BBQ Pork and BBQ Chicken rice with braised egg. I must say it was pretty decent serving size for the price I paid for it ($9.50). There was also a soup that came with the rice and meat. It was alright, what you would expect. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. The chicken was a bit dry and the pork a bit chewy but still good enough to eat. The rice I think is where the braised egg went into, because the rice was really good. I can't say for certain if it was cooked with egg, but it definitely wasn't your run of the mill white rice. It was really nice. I probably ate more of the rice than I did the meat.

I would definitely return here and I might consider trying their other dishes. But I definitely say I like their rice.
