If you want old fashioned service you won’t get it at the supermarkets where meat is plastic wrapped and dated and no one to speak to. That’s why I was delighted to discover Hylands meats at Extra Fresh in Bentleigh. No sawdust on the floor but plenty of good service and advice.

Supermarkets may be convenient, but for personal service give small business a go. The trick is, to find a butcher, a fishmonger and a fruiterer that you trust and stick to them like glue. Hylands Meats has my loyalty.

My family and I have been using Hylands for 25+ years. Hylands is definitely a friendly, quality butcher store and they are always willing to help you with any request you might have, or help with suggestions for dinner. The producers fresh and always of good quality, and not filled with water like meat purchased from huge supermarket chains. I have never been disappointed withe a purchase, and never have to throw anything away.

Price is great. Staff is very helpful and are willing to cut your meat in way you want. The hony soy chicken wings are to die for. FRESH FRESH FRESH. As the name says QUALITY is ture. loved the way they helped the old people as well

Great quality meat and really good service. They also support a lot of local community groups. Their specials are also great value. The meat is always fresh.

Hylands Meats are like the old fashioned butchers that my parents used to take me to. Their meat is far superior than I can purchase elsewhere and they greet you with a smile. Their service is so friendly and nothing seems to be a bother for them. I would go there for that alone, but the meat just brings me back each time. You cannot beat their quality.

Pristine surrounds, friendly, helpful butchers and fabulous meat! The staff are knowledgeable and spend the time with each customer. They make the effort to remember names and are just lovely to deal with. The meat is also really great quality.
