This review is for Hylands Quality Meats, Bentleigh VIC

Hylands Meats are like the old fashioned butchers that my parents used to take me to. Their meat is far superior than I can purchase elsewhere and they greet you with a smile. Their service is so friendly and nothing seems to be a bother for them. I would go there for that alone, but the meat just brings me back each time. You cannot beat their quality.

This review is for AGL Electricity & Gas, Melbourne VIC

I would have to rate AGL as being the worst business I have ever had dealings with ever! The customer service team on the phones are so rude and cannot handle any questions that are even the slightest bit tricky. The service by AGL is disgusting. You need to be home from 7am to 9pm to organise a disconnection (or connection) during business hours. I explained that I work full time and cannot achieve this, "well you can have a Saturday appointment in two months time" being the earliest slot available. I was tied to them for a number of years and I can guarantee that I would rather be tortured than have to endure their poor quality service ever again. If Icould give negative stars for this business, I would. What I have detailed is only one of the issues I had with AGL, I could go on for quite some time with many other problems.....

This review is for John Anthony Salon, Hampton VIC

If you want the very best in what hairdressing can offer, then you cannot go past John Anthony's Salon. The minute you walk into the salon you know you are in for something truly special. The service is nothing short of 5 stars. All the hairdressers who work there are true artists in their own right. This is evident by the number of awards they have won. Their work is just pure genius and I feel truly spoilt when I walk out looking like a new person. This is no ordinary salon, you need to do yourself a favour and experience the superior service first hand.

This review is for Thongsuk Thai, Bentleigh VIC

verified email - 22 Apr 2012

Being a huge fan of Thai food, we are quite critical about it. I must say that Thongsuk is the best value for money Thai restaurant I have ever been to. The food is authentic and is cooked by the owners, who take a lot of pride in their dishes. The service is very friendly and you can see it is a family affair. The stand out dishes are the beef with peanut sauce, the pad thai and the black sticky rice with palm seed (worth every cent at $3!) Recommend giving this restaurant a go!

This review is for Ha Long Bay Restaurant, Richmond VIC

verified email - 22 Apr 2012

Being a regular to Victoria St Richmond's strip of Vietnamese restaurants for many years, one has emerged a true favourite of ours. So much so that we have to go at least once a fortnight now. The menu is extensive, the food great and has not pandered to the western taste of dulling the flavour! Brilliant value for the price. My all time favourite is the Pork and Prawn Dry soup! You must give it a try. My son's always jump on the Grilled Pork and Spring roll Vermacilli. Service can be a bit slow on a Saturday night, but it's worth the wait.

This review is for Shanghai Street Dumpling, Melbourne VIC

verified email - 22 Apr 2012

If you want a value for money meal, then this place is for you. Do not expect luxurious surroundings, it is crowded and noisy and all the tables are squashed together. But if it is good food at a cheap price, you have come to the right place. $7 for 15 dumplings is great value. I had the chilli oil dumplings while my hubby had the peanut sauce dumplings. Only downside for the evening is that they had run out of pork dumplings, wontons and even the mini wontons this evening. It was a Saturday night, but still disappointing. I will be coming back though as you cannot beat the value and quality of the food.

This review is for Misty's 1950's Diner, Prahran VIC

verified email - 22 Apr 2012

We have been eating at Misty's for 9 years. This is because the food is not only delicious and exciting, but because we have never had a bad experience there. Misty goes out of her way to make customers feel welcome and it is backed up with some of the best American cuisine you will find in Australia. My favourites are the carb free burger, quesadillas, onion flower and the wet fries. The only thing better than the mains are the desserts. I can never go past the Reece's pieces thick shake. My hubby would marry the chocolate spoon cake if it was not illegal!! I really recommend Misty's Diner for a fantastic meal in one of the most colourful places you will find in Melbourne.
Word of warning: Go with an empty stomach!

Approximate cost: $17.00
