I moved into a city studio apartment and I really wanted to style it, maximise the small space etc...but felt restricted due to budget restrictions (the place cost a bomb as it was) and fear I guess - I didn't want to pay a fortune for a designer and was intimidated as I didn't even know where to start explaining what I wanted. I was referred to this company by a friend as they did great work on any budget - and I was told the designer was really approachable and great at helping people 'get their design out'. Well - they weren't wrong. Nathan from IA was awesome. He spent a couple of hours at my place just chatting, getting to know me and the apartment. I felt really relaxed which helped me I think express what I really wanted without fear of looking like a goose in front of a 'designer'. 2 days later he emailed me a document that pretty much aced all that we had discussed and more - including colour samples, furniture ideas, layouts, the works! It was such a great starting point. This service was really affordable, and I could have taken that information if I was a little braver and given it a go myself... However, I called Nathan back for a second meeting, and we got stuck into the budget - he was great at helping me to decide what to do myself and what I should gain assistance on. We came up with a plan that was a combination of his involvement (mostly supplying furniture, decorator pieces, art and some work like wall papering) and what I could easily achieve myself. I really felt like he assisted me to get the most out of my dollar - and not what I expected from an interior designer! My place looks great - a result far better than I could have achieved on my own. My advice is dont be intimidated by the concept of an interior designer - its not all about mega budgets and snobbery. These guys work really hard to get you the most bang for your buck, and can get things much cheaper too with their industry discounts. Honestly haven't had a positive service experience like this in ages!
