I don't usually eat in, they are very quick with take-a-ways.
Can't go past their dolma and carrot or spinach dips for starters.
Their falafels are some of the best in Melbourne.
Never had a bad experience with them.
I definitely recommend them

I went for the first time on a quiet night. There was us and another couple. Its BYO as they don't sell alcohol. There was a young boy serving and he forgot to give us cutlery but we just took it off another table. The dips came and they were massive! We waited another 10 mins for the bread though. The mains were good and I really liked it for a quiet night. Baclava is delicious aswell. Will come here again.

Yes we love Turkish food and there is not much competition around! It's not the best but it's an easy going family friendly place. The turkish pide is always fresh, lots of dip varieties, the mixed meat platter is tasty so we are happy going there occasionally!

We tried this place a few weeks ago on a Thursday night. It's a small place & was busy (every table was taken). Decor is very old (wooden panels covered in posters) but the food was good (and good value). We had the special - dips were great (lots of bread). Main was nice. Service however was lacking - one waitress for the whole place (it's small but did have about 50 people in it!) so getting her attention was difficult and even when she was free she wasn't coming over to check if everything was OK. I'd go again for a cheap & cheapfull meal but will probably find other places to go before this one...........

It appears from other reviews that I went on a night when the staff were all in a mood. The food was plentiful, but nothing special. There isn't too many middle eastern restaurants around so they don't have much competition. I won't bother going back though.

We came across this restaurant while we were trying to find another Middle Eastern restaurant in Mentone (that appears to have closed down and turned into a Thai restaurant at some point). We figured we'd give it a go because we had nowhere else to go by that point.

If you're looking for something fancy, this is definitely not the place to go to. The decor looks like it hasn't changed since the 70s; its faux-wood panel walls are covered in faded tourist posters that look as old as I am. Don't go here for any special anniversaries or anything, lest you find yourself in big trouble with the missus. But, if you are looking for a cheap, neighbourly, ethnic restaurant this is right up your alley.

We had the banquet menu, and the food was satisfactory. There was plenty of food, from dips and bread (HUGE basket of bread!) to meze/entrees to a heaped up plate of meat and sides for main. We were lucky we had enough room left for turkish delight and baklava for dessert. If you're looking for fine dining, though, this is not the place for you. The food served is better suited to that of a home-cooked meal by your Turkish grandmother. It is not going to wow you, but it'll fill your belly if that's what you're after. The prices are reasonable for the quantity of food offered.

If you like entertainment while you eat they do have it; there was a belly dancer who performed while we were having our meal, but we found it made us quite uncomfortable as the tables are quite close together and there wasn't a lot of space between us and the dancer when she came by.

We wouldn't rush to go back there, but it's not a bad place if you want something cheap and local.

This is a family restaurant with excellent customer service and value for money. We always go there for our turkish meal and we love the bread & dips. They are served fresh and always a basketful, more than you would expect. The mains are also delicious and if you go in a group, try the meat platter.

Amazing food - huge meals at very reasonable prices. Best Turkish dips outside of Turkey! Their bead is also lovely. Carrot and beetroot dips are my favourite but my husband favours the babaganoosh. The set menu for under $30 is such amazing value, not possible to eat it all but they happily pack up what you can't eat for you to take home. Also offer take away which is great as well.
Highly recommend, especially on the nights with the belly dancer!

The service here really puts the restaurant down. There always seems to be the same waitress, who lacks english, seems rude and doesnt listen to what you're asking for. The food is good turkish food, but not as good as it used to be.

Approximate cost: $15
