Salmon plumbing installed a Rheem Lowline Solar water Heater for me, $4,600. A few years later it faulted. They sent out an inexperienced plumber who replaced a number of parts and announced the unit was operational Cost $1,186. Despite the unnecessary replacement of a swag of parts the unit was not repaired until 2 weeks later they sent out a supervisor with the original plumber to train him on this unit and with an additional bill of $473, we were blessed with hot water. Yes I complained at the time and was treated very badly with an aggressive and rude response over the phone. Now less than 2 years later the unit is faulting again. Will I be ringing Salmon, not on your life? I won't risk that again.

Gave a fair indication of costs over the phone for as blocked drain. It took a little longer than expected but they stuck at it and got the job done, not one I would want to attempt. Had our sewer working that day. Not the cheapest but service and result where great

I have used Salmon to install my hotwater system and had no problem. I also had them change over a toilet suite- expensive but they could come straight away.
That is why i went back as they had done standard jobs without a problem. They were on time and quoted $500 including $60 in parts to replace a sink and at the same time plumb the dishwasher and remove the incinerator when changing the same size sink.
Actual cost $837 and this was after a "pensioner discount " of $89. They took 4 and 3/4 hours to do the job. Parts were $140 not $60 as quoted.
They charged call out fee of $150 plus $550 for labour. The description of work requested was very accurate and the quote was 60% out from the actual charge. Not acceptable. I spoke to a staff memeber and he wasn’t interested.

To add to the ridiculous charge:
- I requested they call me so I can pay rather than my pensioner mother. That wasn’t the case they charged her there and then saying that is what they have to do. I wonder if this is because if they had asked me I would have queried the $300 discrepancy ? This was never the case when I used them in the past.
-On pre-inspection the sink before installation by the plumber – no marks seen- after install two chemical type stains “appeared” which have been very hard to remove and are still visible. Of course they said it was not them but if it wasn’t there before and was there after install who could it have been ??
-They also chipped the worktop when installing the sink……

Would I use again ? no.

Salmon Plumbing did a great job on fixing my bathroom and toilet. They quickly gave us a quote, turned up on time did a great job and there hasn't been a problem since! I would recommend Salmon Plumbing to anyone.

One star because they turned up. The plumber told the tenant my 5 year old Bosch HWS was rubbish, and they would sell us a new unit for $2,000. I phoned their office twice over 2 days (meantime no hot water) for further details. On the third day I finally spoke to someone who was unapologetic and flippant. They get your credit card details up front, so we were charged the quoted service fee, plus an additional $90 labour (for finding a fault that was 'common in these units') PLUS GST. I simply received the paid invoice by email, and when I asked for more details, the emailed reply was, 'sorry you are unhappy' and, tough, with no further information.
