Recently spent a couple of days in town & found a restaurant from Sydney of the '70's. A restaurant owner who values custom
& sincerity. Fantastic meal with great wine selection.
Our Adelaide restaurant is found.
I like to pop in here for a fabulous coffee and often something light to eat after I have had a good look around the music stores nearby. Can always rely on a decent cup and fabulous meal. Very friendly staff.
sounds good
I was first to arrive for dinner (and they didn't really seem prepared) so I was a little unsure - but my hesitation soon departed. The manager (owner?) was marvellous and fantastically flexible to meet my specific needs, nothing was too much trouble. I was able to alter dishes on the menu a little, to suit me. Then ... when the dishes came, they were wonderful. Beetroot/potato soup - which they would serve hot or cold, according to my choice - was lovely. I chose to have it cold - it had a beautifully delicate flavour and eaten with the garnish of flat-leaf parsley, it was even better. The house-made bread was good. My main, the Kangaroo Fillet - was simply magnificent. Cooked medium rare, succulent, tender and perfect. I had steamed vegetables and a radicchio salad, both fabulous. The entire meal was really great - I didn't want it to end! Many thanks
Approximate cost: $25
Sounds great! I haven't heard of it (and I am a local!) but will definitely give it a go after reading your review.
The latest news is they open at 5:31pm which maybe why they seemed a little unprepared. Zoran the manager/owner has some really good stories to tell. The food is varied and well cooked....staff are very pleasant and customer focussed. One of Adelaides little qwerky gems!
I like Jah'z, the food is delicious and I can always rely on some great coffee.
Loved drawing all over the table clothes, food is very nice too, located just off Rundle st at the back of the cinema, the owner is very friendly and helpful, esp to Vegatarian options
Approximate cost: $20
Clean, well stocked and well serviced.
The funny thing with this place is that they have paper table cloths and they provide you with crayons! So you can write down your order, you can also draw pictures while you wait for your food. I think we were one of the first patrons back in the day and the person I dined with drew a picture. The owner actually kept it saying it was probably the best picture someone had drawn at that locale! Otherwise, we did enjoy the time we spent there.
Approximate cost: $15-$30
