The courtyard has an interesting mix of decor, mainly sourced from second hand materials, very much influenced by the alternative style that West End is known for. Cosy atmosphere with tasty entrees, although some of the entree items where off the menu.

The mains were nice, I had the mussels in an Asian style with yummy sour dough bread and my friend had the risotto with beet root and other yummy bits.

The Jam Jar is a hipster looking venue in West End - I went there for dinner on a Saturday night last weekend. It was a little disconcerting to have the place so empty on a weekend night but it meant we were tended to quickly by friendly staff, who explained the menu to us and apologised as some items on the menu were unavailable due to a busy day.

The olives we had for an entree for nothing special, but our main meals were delicious. I had the pork belly with brussel sprouts and my bf had the risotto. Pork Belly was divine. Bit more expensive than what I usually pay but mains between $18-26 are still pretty good. They have a piano out the front that a gentleman was playing and some pretty cool graffiti on the inside. Would definitely go back again.

Approximate cost: $22
