My husband and I came for Saturday lunch at 11:30 am without a reservation and got a table straight away. I think that is the secret to not waiting, go for lunch (not dinner) and go early. The food was amazing and so well priced. Everything was fresh and the service was great. You must order the brownie for dessert! It's amazing. We will be back

Approximate cost: $25.00

I made the booking 2 months ago for a weekday dinner and the day finally arrived yesterday. I was pretty excited to try a couple of pastas. Since we couldn't decide which to try, we decided to have the Honeycomb Cannelloni 3 ways as a shared entree. Whilst it was pretty tasty, the 3 fillings (aubergine and sundried tomatoes, pumpkin and ricotta and spinach) were not very discernible. This is probably due to all of them slatered in tomato-based sauce and gratinated cheese/white sauce. My partner reckons he has had better cannelloni simply because the ones we had yesterday was a bit soggy (but I didn't mind it that much).

For mains, we had the entree-sized squid ink spaghetti with scallop. It was al-dente and tasted of the sea but perhaps a tad oversalted. My partner ordered the special of the day - parpadelle with wild boar meatball. It was very tasty (the breadcrumbs in the tomato sauce was a nice touch) but again, a tad too salty.

Portion-wise, it was pretty fair.

The icing on the cake was really the Tutti Fruitti Lemon Meringue Pie. Delicious and probably the best I've ever had. Very lemony and the pisctachio brittle on top was great.

Approximate cost: $25

We went to Jamie's Italian on a Sunday night, having made a reservation 4 months in advance for a group of 12. There was a long line outside the restaurant when we arrived with wait times up to 1.5hours. The restaurant was lively and noisy, packed with people. When it came to the food, we did not have to wait too long for it to come after we ordered. The food was well presented and portions were decent. Taste-wise, the food was average..I had the angel hair spaghetti with squid ink and scallops and while it was tasty, it wasn't impressive and I felt like the pasta was a tad undercooked. I also tried the crab risotto which similarly was tasty but the rice was a little crunchy to the bite. Although staff were polite and friendly, it was quite difficult to get their attention in this busy restaurant and it took us about 10 minutes before we were able to order our food.

It was good to say that I've eaten at Jamie's, but it is unlikely I'll be back here anytime soon. I'd rather go to PastaCup or Ciao Italia for my Italian food cravings.
