Had to give poorest rating, because they almost killed me. We bought take-away. I was enjoying the sweet and sour pork (the food was very nice) when my throat suddenly felt like it was being pierced with a needle. It was agony. My daughter was on the phone to the ambulance. I couldn't breathe and was coughing uncontrollably. Every cough was agony; even the slightest movement caused intense pain in my throat. Luckily after about seven or eight minutes of the most incredible pain and fear, the coughing dislodged the sharp object.and I was able to bring it up. It was a piece of plastic with sharp ends and about 2cm long and 3mm wide. I've had surgery and my stomach is very small. If it had gone down, I would have suffered a perforated stomach.

I had gone into shock and it was about fifteen minutes before I stopped shaking and crying. When I had recovered enough, I rang them to tell them what had happened, and warn them to have a good look at the sweet and sour pork, so that it wouldn't happen to anyone else. My voice was very husky, but, but my father and daughter tell me it was easy to understand. I spoke to three people, but unfortunately none of them could understand my English - strange, because I heard the first person I'd spoken to, explaining to someone in the background, that there was something in the sweet and sour pork. Puzzling!!!

Soon after that my voice failed and it took three days before I got it back. I was afraid, at first, that my vocal cords had been damaged, so those three days were very hard.

All I wanted when I rang them was an acknowledgement and an apology, and to warn them to stop this happening to anyone else. Now, because of the games they played on the phone, I'm very angry and I'm considering suing.

Everytime I come here, the place is always packed! Their deep fried chilli beef is my fave dish! Good food. Quick service. Always come back for more!

Went there after Jimmys was recommended to us. Went there with kids and ordered a few dishes. One of the dishes wasn't what we ordered. So we told a waiter and the waiter went and spoke with the owner. Then he returned with the original waiter who took out order and said 'that's what you ordered'. My husband said to him and pointed to the menu, it was the one above it and told the waiter he made a mistake.

He denied the mistake and said 'maybe next time speak better and more clear'. Don't get me wrong, I am not rascist but a Chinese person telling an Aussie to speak clearly and denied their mistakes? We made sure we pointed to the menu and said the number just to be sure but he still made a mistake.

So needless to say, we weren't happy. They did correct the order but very reluctanly though.

Taste wise, so so, I have had better Chinese food in Canberra. Don't know what the fuss is about. Haven't been back since

Decent, quick Chinese food. Servings are not as large as some other places but we were still happy with our night out. Jimmy's is good for big groups and has a lot of authentic Chinese food like live mud crabs and snow fungus, etc. On some nights I've been, they give you a free soup starter and a free Chinese dessert soup but I've only been on weekends the last few times and they give you a plate of oranges at the end instead.

Approximate cost: $15

Jimmy's is a great place to head to when you want some great Chinese food at a great price.

Jimmy's does Yum Cha on Saturday and Sunday mornings - some of the best that Canberra has to offer. The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is exceptional. Try anything with lobster and crab on the Yum Cha menu, it promises not to disappoint.

Jimmy has a wide range of chinese dishes, rices and noodles. My favourite is their live seafood such as the Singapore Chilli Crab (at least $40/kg) and hong kong style steamed fish. The restaurant is quite big and it gets pretty busy at night. However, they have a lot of wait staff and they are really efficient. A nice place for dinner especially seafood!

Approximate cost: $20

I tried various dishes in Jimmy's Place: really nice seafood; a long list of Cantonese dishes -- which I love.

It has another room inside which can accommodate three big round tables for a party.

Once asked for a live fish dish but tasted so-so.

Approximate cost: $18

Very average - my boyfriend had the honey king prawns which were avarage and i had prawn toast and dry spiced squid. The service is quick and they were very polite and helpful but I didn't feel very good the next day after eating there.

Approximate cost: $15
