Went for a trim and asked them to put some curls through my hair after. Overpriced is an understatement as the guy did not make the slightest bit of conversation I just sat there for an hour. To be charged $140 for just a small trim is ridiculous and not value for money at all. I do not know how this place wins awards as the 'curling' they put through my hair was terrible and I explained it needed to be tight and hold for an event in the evening. I got home it was practically straight with 1 light kink through it, looked as though I had tied it in a ponytail. So I straightened it for my event. Terrible and never going back, such a waste of money and really unpleasant experience

Way too expensive and the staff seem arrogant! No real conversation and at most a cbf mentality. I do like that they are quick and don't keep you waiting but don't like uneven hair.
I won't go back due to price not worth the service provided, overhyped definitely !

I just read another review for this salon and was compelled to write one myself. The salon is definitely overpriced, inconsistent and overrated. I have been going to the salon for a year or so now and have found that my hair is great maybe 1 out of 4 times. I have tried to persist hoping that maybe once they know how my hair behaves that they can get it right most of the time . Sadly not. Each time I come away nearly $400 poorer and disappointed with my result. Apart from their mediocre talent I have also found the staff, in particular the senior staff snobby and unfriendly. It appears if you are not a celebrity they are totally disinterested in you. Have decided to go elsewhere .. Parking also a nightmare!

Awful service, overpriced and over hype. I have been to Joey Scandizzo a couple of times now and each time doing the same thing to my hair, each time is a different price. Every 2 months I go there to get my hair done the same way. How could that be? It seems like they just charge whatever they want. I wasn't a hundred percent happy but decided to go back as I was lazy to look for another hair salon. My last visit was terrible. I booked over the phone for this stylist to be told on the day she cannot do my hair and got a junior girl to do my colors etc. but she charged me for an experienced stylist. Pathetic. That stylist did not even check on me once during my time there to see if I was happy with my colour or to see the end results. She was too busy to even say goodbye thanks for coming. I feel ripped off paying for an experienced stylist yet got a young girl to do my colour. I am now left feeling very unhappy with my hair. The colour was not right. The bottom of my hair is a darker tone than the top of my hair and the two colour looks ridiculous together. It looks like I went to a cheap salon to get it done. I would not go back there and tell people to not go there. Very overpriced, and terrible service. I've used several stylist in the salon and I can tell you it's definitely overrated. Nothing special. I've had several friends with similar experiences and we are heading elsewhere. I paid nearly $400 that day. I almost fell to the floor when I had to pay. It was the cost of color, cut and foil. The cheapest I've paid there was $320. As I said before different prices each time I was there doing the same thing to my hair. I feel the need to share my review because of the price they charge. If they were a cheaper salon, I would expect that but they charge super expensive. The price charges do not match the service and expertise that they promised to deliver.

So disappointing. I booked an appointment here based on the extensive awards and great reputation the salon has and left feeling like a fool. Got a cut and colour - repeatedly stressed I wanted a 'natural colour' and what did I get? Streaky, patchy, totally UN-natural blonde that turned yellow after a few washes. The cut made me look like a 1970's mum (I'm in my early 20's). The guy who cut my hair was rude and totally disinterested in me - obviously just went along and did his own thing despite my very thorough explanation of what I wanted. I also paid extra to have a more experienced people do they cut and colour. Don't believe the hype!

I think it's a smart big hairdressers very busy and the hairdressers have lots of skill. I was just a bit put off as my hairdresser kept going on about how badly damaged my hair was, which is why I came for a cut. I got the message I said please take this much off although I am growing it and the whole time she was blow drying my hair she kept saying stay away from the bleach, you hair is really damaged at the ends, it looks better blowdried, the other hairdresser would have cut all your hair off it's so badly damaged. Just lots of comments which really didn't make me feel great. I've had my hair highlighted once this year and i haven't straightened it in like 5-6months, it's not that badly damaged, I just get the impression they want more business. I didn't come out of there feeling great, even though I felt the girl cut my hair really well, it was just the comments, so I will probably try somewhere else next time. They also tried to sell me something on the way out, asking if I'd like to "try" some oil at home, without telling me how much.

I definitely had the best haircut ever, or at least for a very long time. My hairdresser knew how to achieve the style I was after and was happy to make adjustments as I requested, and it was all done quite quickly. I also took advantage of their website offer of a $20 discount so it ended up costing only $30.

I am new to the area (from the states) and walk past the salon often, and it always looks like a fun yet polished place to get your hair done. I love that they have big tables that all the ladies sit around to get their hair done while chatting and reading good mags. It's a very busy salon, but busy in a good way. I saw Caylah for color and Anthony for cut. Both were perfection. I loved my color, it was exactly what I wanted, and my cut looks and feels great. Anthony is super talented and very personable. Overall I was super happy with my experience there, and I will definitely be going back. One criticism I have however is that I felt that I was handed off to several different people during my color, and toner, wash etc. maybe this is just the way it's done here in Australia? In the end it was one of the best technical cuts and color I've ever had.

Amazing award winning hair salon in south Yarra just opposite train station. Great prices, quality and salon atmosphere! Natalia did my hair color and it is the best color I have ever had! Will go back there in two month!

Lively salon with brilliant staff. Approachable and animated atmosphere though is a little pricey.
