I've always thought of this place as being Swiss in name only. I'd love to know if it was ever owned by any Swiss but I don't think that's the case now or in recent times. In any case that's not a reason for a poor rating.

I've eaten there a few times over the years, things like pies (certainly more Aussie than Swiss food) and cakes. While I found it reasonable, it was nothing to rave about. But I'd still have given them a better rating if my past experience was as good today.

But no, today I bought a piece of Vanilla Slice to take away. It looked okay in this dimly lit shop, but when I got it home the filling was almost bright orange. It completely lacked flavour or richness, if anything it just tasted of egg. The pastry itself was okay, but overall I can't say it was nice.

I don't know if it's a recent change of management or what. The price would be fine if the quality was better.

Great food and huge selection of fresh cakes and savory foods. The croissants are yummy and big & fluffy, and pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommend this place. The almond croissants are delicious.

fantastic food, baked fresh daily. the rolls they prepare are generously filled with top quality ingredients and moderately priced. can be made to order if desired. vast array of cakes and danishes, all very tempting. pies and pastries are also available in many varieties. a very pleasant cafe to enjoy a coffee and cake, or something more substantial. staff are wonderful, very friendly and helpful.

Approximate cost: $5
