Kid's Garage is my finds of the year and I have been recommending Carole to everyone.
Carole cut my 7 year old daughter's hair and my 5 year old son's hair beautifully. The kids love their haircuts, even weeks later and really enjoyed going (the trampoline was a great plus for my son too).
I think that these are the best haircuts they've had and I would highly recommend Kid's Garage to all families.
Approximate cost: $25
My son and daughter (9yrs and 5 yrs) have been looking forward to their haircuts with Carole for over 3 years now. It's like a fun family outing, with bonus fantastic haircuts to show for it. We cannot recommend Carole highly enough for her friendliness, fun, skill and professionalism.
Carole has been cutting my children's hair for over 6 years now. My 16 year old son has Aspergers and in the past hated having his hair cut. But is very comfortable with Carole cutting his hair. No sensory overload, very relaxing salon. I too have been getting my hair cut by Carole all this time. Go Carole! A joy to visit x.
All I really need to say is that my daughter started coming to Kids Garage for a haircut when she was 8 - she's now 13 :)
Carole is easy going, hilarious, and more importantly, damn precise with the scissors! Oh and did I say very comfortable prices.
Very child oriented with 2 teenagers of her own.
But wait there's more....parents can feel confident to leave their child with Carole and stroll across the road to Tooronga Village for a coffee, bite to eat, a glass of wine or just get your shopping out of the way.
Thanks for Carole we say - highly recommended by us !!!XXXX
I have 2 girls aged 11 & 13 who are very particular in the way their hair is cut. The girls love having their hair cut at kids garage it's fun, funky and very stylish Carole really understands her clientele and what they are after The styles are very age appropriate and she has a beautiful way with children She always is totally professional and runs on time I would highly recommend her to anyone with children
I have an 8yo, 12yo and 13yo. Best haircuts ever. Quick, efficient, friendly, funny as well. Kids loved it, I love it because it's the right price, it's close to home, there's no waiting around. Haircuts have been exactly what my picky kids have wanted. Will tell all my friends.
I took my 10 year old boy and 8 year old girl to Kids Garage. For once, they did not complain about their hair cuts! The place was clean, stylish and kids friendly. The owner operator Caroline was friendly and accommodating. It shows that she has children herself! Overall, it was a fun and painless experience. I have finally found a hairdresser who I can trust for my children!
Approximate cost: $25
that's so good to find a hairdresser which is kids friendly, so what sort of things did the salon have to entertain the kids? i heard of some salons having kids movie shown
I have a 12 year old and 15 year old who would not have their hair cut by anyone other than Carole at Kids Garage. Carole is professional and friendly and the atmosphere is great. Parking is never an issue and I am always happy with the cuts my kids walk away with. I highly recommend Kids Garage to everyone.
My 2 1/2 year-old hates having her hair brushed and would never let me put in a clip or hair-tie, which is tough because she has a lot of curls which frequently threaten to become dreadlocks! Carole was fabulous - cutting Eva's hair beautifully as she twisted and turned while distracting her with toys and chatting away. Eva left with a lovely hair cut a pony -tail and glitter spray. What more could a mum ask for? Great value for $20 - we'll certainly be back!
Carole is a cheery, up beat person and a fabulous, efficient hairdresser. The funky atmosphere at Kid's Garage makes the whole haircut experience a joy and is my children's first choice when the dreaded 'hair cut' conversation ticks around.
I particularly love the private location - it's a relief not to have to drag my children through a busy shopping centre or try to find parking in a hectic shopping strip.
I'd recommend Kid's Garage to anyone with young children.

My two girls, aged 3 and 2 had never had their hair cut prior to our visit to Kid's Garage (unless you include a never-to-be-repeated fringe cut in the bath by me). My 3-year-old doesn't like having her hair brushed, so I was nervous to say the least. I had visions of her waving her hands about and noisily refusing to even allow a comb near her hair, never mind the scissors!
I found a review here on WOMOW that gave me hope. A salon designed for kids set up in a garage is a much better prospect for two small potential runaways than either a salon in a strip of shops or a shopping centre.
3-year-old was awed by the garage setup with its bright colours and big mirror and sat (reasonably) still after selecting her Chup a Chup while Carole expertly cut the hair on a constantly turning head.
My 2-year-old loves having her hair stroked and brushed, so it's no surprise that she adored the experience. She did spend a bit of time poking her tongue out at the mirror.
Both girls were very impressed with their "beautiful style", as my 3-year-old put it. Glitter spray and braids are clearly the way to a little girl's heart.
In fact, they announced their new style to anyone who would listen for the rest of the day. The braids stayed in overnight and were only reluctantly taken out the next night at bath time.
Carole is friendly and professional and made this a definite experience to repeat.

My son likes to let his hair grow long and shaggy before he finally agrees to go to the hairdresser. I met Carole, the proprietor of Kid's Garage, on a course in 2010 and decided to try Kid's Garage for the "back to school" haircut for term 4. Carole is energetic, efficient and is great with kids. We were both happy with that first haircut and the value, but better still was the overall experience.
"Kid's Garage" is exactly what the salon is - a fun, bright salon set up in a garage. Describing it that way just doesn't do it justice. It is a really relaxed, cheerful place designed for kids with an edgy, artist-commissioned "graffiti wall", Nintendo, Wii, and the tried & true bonus - Chupa Chups! My son describes the graffiti wall as: "Awesome!"
The big difference for me with going to Kid's Garage is that getting my son's hair cut is no longer something likely to cause whining resistance. As long as he is going to Kid's Garage, he is happy to go along, check out additions to the graffiti wall and chat to Carole about what's happening at school. Win-win!
