Used to be more affordable, prices have gone up a bit. Chicken steak used to be $6 but now $8.50. Still pretty good value though because it comes with huge serving of rice and 2 huge pieces of chicken fillets. The chilli oil is a must try.

Chicken steak for around $6 is a steal! Cannot find any other place that sells a chicken meal for so cheap.

I recommend this restaurant for people who want to looking for food with cheap price. The range price of food in there around 6 dollar. The quality of food in there also good. You can get a big portion for menu chicken steak with around 6 dollar 60 cent. I have tried menu chicken steak many times in there and i never find other restaurant provide cheaper price than kim sing.

Cheap place in the arcade good for lunch at work. A whole range on the menu for $6 and pics across the place on the wall show menu items. Quality could be better but for the price what can you expect.

This used to be Jolly J's but is now a chinese food joint called Kim Sing (though most people don't even know the name!). It's in this little arcade that runs between Flinders Street and Flinders Lane and right near Young & Jacksons. The food is plentiful and pretty much everything on their menu is $6.

Their signature dish is "Chicken Steak" which is sort of like two large hot and spicy fillets from KFC. If you sit and watch the dishes coming out, probably 80% of them are this dish. I found it a little dry for my taste...needs more sauce...or choose the fried rice option (extra 60 cents I think). I also had the Satay Chicken with Veg and Steam Rice...that was much better in my opinion, but they have so many dishes to choose from I can see myself experimenting here for quite some time and saving myself a packet on lunch!

I haven't seen anything this cheap with this much meat in it anywhere in town! And with tables inside the restaurant AND outside in the arcade AND in another shop across the other side of the arcade - it's people everywhere - but the food comes FAST! Try and find a seat!

Very cheap, generous servings and quick chinese foods. Great for when I run out of money at month end and counting down the number of days till payday. Just $6 will get me a huge pile of steamed rice and chicken steak.
