My wife was rushed, in an ambulance, to Hospital with Chest Pains... we could've gone go Maroondah (public) but the Ambos thought we'd get better and more urgent medical attention at Knox Private.

The Knox Private Emergency Department care rated 3 /5 at best... they would've scored lower if not for one particular nurse who was fantastic. The other nurses couldn't care less and the doctor on duty was must've spent all of 90 seconds talking about her medical condition... instead he was more focused on persuading us to check-in to the ward for monitoring and an angiogram that same evening. No sooner we signed the paperwork, the angiogram was pushed to the next day and after 8 hours of virtual neglect (no doctor, nurses had no clue what meds were prescribed and administered, etc.), we were told that the angiogram was only going to be a couple of days later... the assumption being that we would be happy to sit in hospital and charge our stay to our Private Medical Cover. The medical care at the Ward gets a 0/5 score, only because we give the a lower score.

Not once did a Cardiologist see the patient, who was rushed to emergency by Ambulance.

Knox Private is a business first and a hospital second. Stay away.

4 hours + waiting in ED after paying $340 to use this useless hospital service. That’s how long my elderly mother had to wait with a broken elbow. No nurses came near her, no pain relief offered…nothing. Disgraceful way to treat our elderly and even worse to make them pay.

My wife visited Knox private hospital through Ed on the 26th dec 2020 was treated amazingly with chest pain & discomfort after going through all tests was transferred to CCU were the most wonderful people not naming them. Then transferred to hell kenlock ward most un caring staff not being informed for 5hrs about surgery situation. Not even aloud to make tea or coffee even the tea lady was embarrassed she was amazing. asked frt office . Nurse station. Nurse. Tried to contact recovery. Been client for about 35 years . Yesterday I had a mammogram performed by a lovely girl by the name of Helen . She made me feel very comfortable and had the sweetest nature ! She acted in a professional manner and explained the procedure perfectly. I will definitely return for future yearly check ups . The service was 5 star from the receptionist to the mammogram and ultrasound procedures. Also the young lady who performed the ultrasound named Harrioula (Bful curly bob hair style ) she was Greek . Made my experience a lot easier for me as I’ve had anxiety with previous ultrasounds ... she talked me through the whole procedure to take my mind off my worries . These two staff members are a credit to the hospital and I’d like to thank them for helping me through my apprehension of such a difficult appointment due to family history of breast cancer

Food is almost inedible. Full of sugar and salt and nothing fresh. Vegetables all out of tins or dehydrated. How can anybody recover on this poor nutrition! Whereas the food at Cabrini was fantastic.

A pretty good hospital but if your situation is very bad they will move you to another hospital. It is very clean and the gardens are nice and most staff are friendly. Sometimes hard to get a car space.

I spent 4 weeks here, post triple bypass surgery in the chesterfield ward, the nurses were amazing and made a difficult period bearable, almost pleasant. I cant thank them enough, its been 4 months since I was discharged and I still think of them daily.
