Kritamos Hellenic Cuisine

Really impressed. Definitely one of the leaders in the greek restaurant scene in Melbourne. It is really nice to have a restaurant/bistro that treads the gap between 24hr souvlaki joints and traditional no-frills greek eateries, and upmarket fine dining greek influenced restaurants. Kritamos fills this gap beautifully. From zucchini fritters, baby goat, slow roasted lamb to the greek donuts to finish, everything was lovely. Service was just right, neither too familiar nor stiff nor absent.

I recently went along to Kritamos in Richmond to celebrate getting a new job. I had walked past it a number of times, and finally decided to go in. What a great decision!!! The food was fantastic, and despite me not being a red meat eater, there was a good variety. We had dips, saganaki, a delicious 'Kritamos Salad', prawns, scallops, and a beautiful dessert (sorry - I've forgotten the name of it!) The waiting staff were excellent, and overall it was a really lovely experience. Whilst it wasn't the cheapest place I've ever been, it was worth it (the price below includes a lot of food and a few glasses of wine). I highly recommend it. Also, we went on a Tuesday night and didn't have to book. You may need to check this if you plan on going on a weekend.
