I'm intrigued by a number of the reviews above, both the overly effusive and the remarkably negative. I have been visiting this corner nook through a number of incarnations and changes in management and to my mind La Finca is up there with the best of them. The current owners have gone out on a limb both with their food and also in their overall offering of entertainment and alternative ideas.

The one time i had half opened mussels (one or two in a serve of approx a dozen, the lady in charge, without prompting, immediately offered a free drink whilst they re-prepared my dish and then did not charge for the dish at all on the final bill.

I have always (in the current La Finca format) found the food here to be of a good standard and the service has always been friendly. Even when run off their feet, they will tarry a moment to indulge waffling diners who have had a wine or beer too many. They also delighted my 86yo mum.

This place DESERVES to succeed

Beautiful meals - mouthwatering, and great friendly staff. Loved the guitarist playing after dinner, had a great lil dance and the bars fully stocked!! Fun night out with great food, great atmosphere, great friends and I highly recommend this as a must visit for Daylesford!

I visited La Finca with my partner and it was fantastic!!! We sat outside on the many tables available in the sunshine and enjoyed an incredible menu of traditional authentic tapas, everything from seafood (my favourite) to meat and vege dishes and don't even get me started on the desserts!!! OMG to die for! Staff were friendly, helpful and knew the menu very well, thankyou to Bethany and Julian for their amazing service and suggestions, yes the Paella, and all the prawns were the best I've ever had, thankyou. The after hours live music and dancing is the best fun I've had in a long time and the vibe of the place completely changes. I had the best night with my partner I've had in our entire marriage after spending a night drinking Sangria and dancing with you guys. Thankyou so much, you made our weekend. Viva Espana!!!!!

I think I was one of those tables that told her not to bother! Terrible waste of time considering I had come for the day. Lack of service and rudeness is probably top of my list of reason why to avoid. Really great location, looks good but don't judge a book by it's cover! The food was ok once it arrived! Loved the Sangria.

we waited more than an hour and a half to be served even cold tapas! four other tables came up to us when we sat down to warn us not to bother. tapas were super small and we had a bowl of mussels served, 1/2 closed.

fantastic sangria was the only plus!

condescending replies not needed thank you. i understand what tapas are as i frequent tapas restaurants... some dishes were just ridiculously small, such as the cheese platter, with a slither of cheese. A disappointment.

From the moment we arrived the smell and feel of this place felt right. As we had not long returned from Europe we thought the food was authentic and the atmosphere very similar to what we experienced on our trip to Spain. I had heard good things about this place from friends who had been to la finca, and they were right . Highly recommend this place and if you happen to catch the flamenco guitar and dancers you will feel completness

We found the atmosphere very nice- decor hasn't changed since the last owners but that's fine. music was a bit loud, but OK too. Food choices were a bit heavy on seafood (which is delivered rarely to inland victoria-making it a bit of a worry). One third of the dishes were unavailable on the weeknight we went- including the only dessert. This dessert is spanish churros and we were told it was brought in by truck once a week. We would expect a churros machine making them freshly on premises at a tapas bar, frankly. Week old doughnuts? Yuk. We also mourned the lack of fresh veggie dishes and salads- everything seemed to highly 'microwavable', whether it was or not. The service was a high standard, we're hoping the food will catch up.

This is a funky little corner Tapas Bar which opens to the street allowing the cool Spanish acoustic music and delicious aromas to waft into the street luring you in. In true European style there is plenty of outdoor dining under umbrellas plus indoor seating with air-conditioning and comfy couches, cushions and ottomans scattered about. The four Tapas dishes we chose were all delicious as was the Spanish wine. The service was friendly, helpful and efficient. You can order as much or as little as you want, which is just perfect for a light snack or a more substantial meal of several, small Tapas delights. The menu is very reasonably priced and there is a small selection of Spanish wines and beers available. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming, just the ticket on a warm Sunday afternoon. We will definiitely be back.
