Dad, mum and I used to go here once a month for a long time. We went with friends from school a few weeks ago and it's really bad. Our pizza was burned and the schnitzels tasted dry. They look really bad. The icecream is really good though!

This is the biggest Dissapointment ever. I knew Rocco and he made this place from scratch. Under his guidance it used to pump. Then he was involved in a motorbike crash and passed away. Not long after it seems that this place has gone to the dogs. I really tried to stay here and make it a regular but sending food back all the time just shows me no one cares. This needs to STOP ! The pizza oven burns everything, the food is old and dry tasting. It is doomed and thats so so sad. It was actually rated in the TOP 50 for WORLD PIZZA JUDGE on facebook at one stage in its life but now it's unratable.

I had a lovely meal called "Il Calzone" it was delicious, filling and very very reasonable in price. It was filled with cheese and certain vegetables in a rolled up in half like pita bread... Very very nice indeed

Approximate cost: $17

Rocky and Felice are the original owners who first started the franchise. The whole place is surrounded by photos of vips as well as real old italian scooters and motorcycles. For the price the pizzas are value for money especially if you don't want an expensive meal for the family. The pizza toppings are sufficient and the pastas are a decent serve. It is always busy.

Im not sure who is eating here and what they are thinking with all these 4 and 5 star ratings...
I guess I compare the food to how La Prochetta used to be.. But its not anymore!
The food is Sh!t and the meat and dairy is the typical franchised D grade quality.

I ate half the pizza and couldn't anymore.. A Capriciosa i think...

Maybe if you are not of Italian/European descent you might think the food is ok. Kinda like me thinking that some chinese food is the best, but a lot of chinese people would be like... "what the?"

Anyway, you might or might not like it.. Try if you like... Still cheap tho which is good!

Approximate cost: $8

Food is good, quick and delivered with a minimum of fuss. Its good for a quick bite or to stay a while and soak up the people watching atmosphere on the street.

Approximate cost: $10

It was one of the worst dining experiences. The steak was the only dish that tasted good. The pasta I ordered had stale chicken inside. When I complained to the manager, not only was I treated rudely but they said that it was the taste of my mouth and that the chicken they used was fresh. Very very unsatisfactory treatment.

Of all the La Porchetta's we really love this one in particular. It is the original and the first and I have been eating here even before the present owner (long time ago!). We think it has real character (pics of famous places and people, motor bikes etc) and for some reason 30 years latter I am still addicted to the No1. Super special!

I've been to this place plenty of times, for it's great for an inexpensive feed. You don't go there expecting brilliant service, but the staff are usually pretty friendly. It's much better value than a lot of the places on nearby Lygon St.
