This local place always satisfies - the portions are generous, full of body and flavours. I have tried numerous dishes but find it hard to deviate from the combination laksa. The only dish that I have refrained from having again is the roti - it’s thick and not as fluffy as I would like. It tastes like really made roti that has been reheated.

I love Laksa King! The noodle bowls are simply perfection, they all come with a huge variety of ingredients in carefully made broth.

Hands down favourite place to satisfy my Laksa cravings. The Chicken Curry Laksa for around $13 is a steal! The broth is made to perfection, reminds me of home!

Been here a few times for dinner as it is close to where I study. Food is good and always consistent however, they are quite busy the few times I've been and that makes their service a bit poor. Ordered a drink that never came, asked for them to follow it up, got told that itll be coming out soon, near the end of the dinner, got told that they ran out and asked us to order another drink... i dont know. I dont think being busy can excuse you from negligence. Otherwise, food is fine.

Everyone who loves Laksa know this place. It's called Laksa King for a reason. The Laksa here are the best in Melbourne. The prices are reasonable too. The Char Kway Teow and Hor Fun are also pretty damn delicious.

Had another fantastic time at Laksa King, the combination laksa is delicious and the eggplant inside is good. It is on the slightly expensive side for laksas though

They are the kings of take-away laksa. Sitting in they seemed to want to turn the table faster then we could actually eat and upon telling them, no we weren't finished, they cleared the table anyway. It's good, but overall it's nothing to write home about.

Eat fast and then get out. That's pretty much the attitude the staff have here. Great food but I dislike having the bill shoved on my table as soon as the last plate is taken.

I would highly recommend booking a table in advance, as Laksa King is always packed! I have heard people complain about being 'rushed' through their dining experience, but I don't agree. The service is prompt and attentive and you wouldn't believe how little time you have to wait for your meals in such a busy restaurant! If you want to go somewhere to converse and relax over a bottle of wine for hours, this is not the place for you. The turn-over of customers is high as there is constantly a line of people waiting to be seated. The Laksa King is the place to go for cheap, amazing and tasty food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is vibrant and buzzing. I would highly recommend the combination laksa and the peking duck. I love Laksa King!

Great quality and authentic food at Laksa King. Since they moved to these bigger premises a few years ago, they already seem to have outgrown their space. Constant queues out the door are not uncommon everyday of the week from 6-9pm which would be their peak hour. Right next to Newmarket station if you are arriving by train and next door to Laksa competitor Chef Lagenda.
Laksa King is the original though and very good at what they do. Pretty sure it is still cash only. Although most of the dishes are quite cheap, by the time you add the extras, entrees, rice, drinks, roti, etc, the bill can kind of creep up on you.
Busy hawker style and noisy environment. Very fun, very tasty food!

The best laksa I have had and has been consistent every time I have been. The food comes our super quick and the service is friendly. The restaurant itself is comfortable and clean. Location is tricky to find, but worth the hunt. I recommend the seafood laksa, it is tasty and great value. Restaurant is very busy at times, so maybe booking a table ahead of time might help.

Laksa is one of the best that I have found in Melbourne. Their other dishes are pretty good too though after renovation, found that their prices has gone up a little bit. Can be crowded during evening and peak times.

It's always packed, you will probably have to queue and the service is not that great, to be expected at such a busy restaurant. The chairs are hell unless you are young and fit, oh my aching back. Still the laksa is really very good indeed so you should check it out. However those with lower back issues should stick to Vy Vy around the corner for their laksa fix.

One of the best laksa's in Melbourne imo. Their Laksa dish is the best but the rice dishes are not bad either. Great service and fast serving. Not the cheapest laksa and waiting time can be long.

Sometimes the food quality is inconsistent but always great tasting. I don't like the fact that you cannot pay with card which is inconvenient as take clients out for lunch all the time and I cannot go their with clients.

Very busy place and extremely noisy, was hard to have a conversation with my friend opposite me. There are plenty of options to choose from on the menu. The food is really good, service was very fast and they offer take away containers for left overs.

This is a regular for lunch during the week. I mst say by far the best laksa in Melbourne that I have tried. I especially like the fish fillet laksa which comes with additional veggies. Great on a cold winter day.

Another favorite of ours is the char kuey teow and the ipoh rice noodles in egg gravy.

Food quality is consistent. Highly recommended.
