A popular lunch place for Broadway workers and Sydney Uni students, there's a good reason for the Lansdowne's little restaurant's success--$10 for a drink and steak for lunch? WIN.
When my co-worker suggested we go here for lunch I was a little dubious. It looks a litte seedy from outside, but upstairs it's warm, cosy (even though it's HUGE) and our seat by the window was sunny and comfy. It was really busy, so food took a while to come out, but at such a great price for a hot meal and drink, well worth it.
The noisy little pub downstairs is a great place to catch up for cheap Friday night drinks, and the best thing about The Lansdowne is the total lack of pretension. It's a comfy, good old fashioned pub, selling good old fashioned pub food.
Bar and restaurant which serve cheap food and drink for under $10. Steak is nice also the chicken schnitzel. Nice place to eat and cheap in the city.
Approximate cost: $10
Cheap food! Good steak and drink for under $10. Service is ok not great. Atmosphere is not that bad. The bar itself has lots of tables on both leves and can accommodate big groups.
Approximate cost: $10
Very cheap food with a menu with great variety. The steak is a lucky dip because you never know what you're going to get next. Great place to meet for dinner if you are low on cash.
Approximate cost: $5
Home of the $5.00 steak/meal if you are a student and after a cheap eat this is the place to go. Make sure you go out of peak times otherwise you have to queue forever. Its great for a cheap feed and you can enjoy a beer while you have it. They also have live music and areas to sit outside. Nice place to spend Friday afternoon.
Approximate cost: $5.00
