Nothing to write home about is the best way to sum up Lazy Moe's.

You get a big meal... but honestly 90% of it is chips stacked up on your big plate.

The 'salad' with your meal comes in a stainless steel pet food bowl, it consists of a ton of iceburg lettuce, a ton of red onion... one cherry tomato (yes, just one), one slice of cucumber (yes... one slice), a piece of orange... and white sauce thrown over it that has no taste.

The chicken parma isn't bad, its the size of your head! Plus the mountain of chips and the bowl of salad - for $20~ no complaints.

The fried calamari was pretty stingy, not much calamari and try to hide the fact by adding another mountain of chips.

Avoid the thai beef salad, it was pretty much iceburg lettuce and a cut up minute steak, no flavour and not even worth the $17~ (I'm surprised it didn't come with a ute full of chips).

The all day pancakes we're pretty nice for the most part, cooked and presented well.

Staff are hit and miss, depends how busy the place is, you might be forgotten about. The dining room makes you feel like your packed in with animals, every time I've visited you pretty much need to shout at the person across the table, maybe the place needs carpet to lower the echo of screaming kids/adults.

All in all - if you have a friend who can eat a bag of minimum chips from the fish shop to themselves and demand to try out lazy Moe's, be a weirdo and order pancakes for dinner (or the parma).

Approximate cost: $15-25

Food is OK, not amazing, basically just pub food. Service is hit and miss. First time we went there the staff were very rude and were extremely slow to fulfill any of our requests such as getting us some water. Recent occasions have been OK. Don't like how the owners and all their family congregate at the front of the restaurant. Makes you feel very uneasy. Other than that, Lazy Moes does provide a decent enough meal for the price

Approximate cost: $15-25

Tried to book a table at Lazy Moe's Ballarat but they would not allow a booking for less than 5 people (We are a family of 4). Would have liked to give them a go but I can't see myself hanging around with young kids for god knows how long waiting to be seated. Can't see this sort of service lasting in Ballarat. Happy to dine there, they just won't take the booking. (Moderate star ratings because we didn't get to have the experience)

We have dined at the new Lazy Moes two times since its Ballarat opening a couple of weeks ago.

The first time we took the family for a weekend breaky. The service was great, meals exceptionally reasonably priced and possibly the largest serves I have ever seen of pancakes and ice-cream.

The second time was dinner. They were busy but forgot to take our meal orders until we prompted them some time later, and then 1 of the meals was the wrong dish when served. They did rectify it pretty quickly though. And I can honestly say it was the largest parma I have ever seen.

Often with these sort of restaurants its quantity over quality - but the quality of meals on both times was pretty good. A good place to take the kids. You are made to feel very welcome and its a great environment.

The do fabulous coffee as well - including take away which is well needed for this end of town.

Approximate cost: $15ish
