Wow, where to start...

Let me first say - every single employee provides exceptional customer service, very friendly and polite, were prompt to remove plates, change empty food items from buffet, even suggested drink specials to save money - fantastic work ladies and gents.

Everything was clean and the place was decked out in a comfortable modern furniture settings.

But the main reason I write this review is all about the buffet.

What do you get for a $23 dollar buffet these days...

Well that depends on what you consider 'food'.

The Pork & Lamb was reasonable... but only if you got it while it was still being carved on the platter - otherwise it gets drowned in what would best be described as a watery soup of small meat trimmings... bland, apple sauce isn't going to help that sucker if had all is juices drained out by sitting in a swimming pool of water for 30mins~.

Scallop potatoes were more like disks of hard potato sitting in a yellow soup (not cheese, had no flavour), and raw uncooked onion pieces.

Here's a tip, those little frankfurt hot doggy things sitting in water... change brands or swap out the water because they have the stench of DEATH, a rank smell of decomposing flesh from artificial chemicals type of DEATH.

All the 'asian' inspired dishes, seriously it was all just bland - nothing could stand out, blind taste tests at our table and we couldn't even recognize meats let alone flavours.

Sausages in gravy, my god - stay right away, the brown water called gravy - yep... you guessed it, bland, no flavour. Those sausages, were more than likely cooked boiled and just tasted like solvents... how a meat product can be abused that much to taste like something you'd clean the car with, we shall never know.

Meatballs, just looked like gray tennis balls sitting in what appeared to be red soup... I just kept walking on that one.

The ice cream in the soft serve machine had this distinct taste of the cheapest homebrand ice cream, I really think that's all it was... Virtually just leave a tub of vanilla ice cream out on the bench for an hour, voila~ soft serve machine buffet ice cream.

Custard... HA - tasted like yellow soup mixed with flower and sugar, homebrand custard powder tastes better than that stuff your trying to pull of as custard.

The slices were mostly alright, the sticky date squares were a thumbs up also.

Overall, everything just looked a bit sad in the food warmers, no flavour, sitting around lonely waiting to be picked up by the hungry hordes.

I could be wrong, the place had people putting down reservations, couples and family's all eating and almost a full seating.

It all comes down to what you think $23 dollars is worth.

If your thinking "I want to drill in as much generic bland food as I can until my belt buckle pops off and hits my loved one in the skull for $23 bucks" then ignore this whole review, enjoy and have a good night out.

If you have any common sense, might be a good idea just to keep driving down that highway right past this establishment, maybe even put the foot down on the accelerator.

Also on one last note, its a pokies venue - save your cash, you aren't going to win from the big electronic money eating machine.

Approximate cost: $23 - all you can eat.

Every single part of my dining experience tonight was Excellent.

First the waitress provides exceptional customer service, very welcoming, friendly and quite funny to have a chat with. Making sure that our order is exactly want we want to spice rating and providing anything we needed with a smile.

The food was fantastic, tender and moist pieces of chicken smothered in a delicious sauce with the taste of fresh herbs and the right amount of spice makes the perfect Indian experience that will made us visit once again.

Extremely good value with mains around $12, sides $2.50-$4, cheap drinks prices and even BYO, left full and loved the flavours.

Lovely dining area, very comfortable surroundings and all very clean and well kept area to have a chat.

I can tell that I'll be returning again soon, well worth the visit.

Recommend - 5 Stars all around.

I honestly wonder how places like this make any sort of money.

For second hand goods - every single thing I saw/interested in was way way WAY overpriced. Items could be purchased new for cheaper.

Staff not really helpful, didn't seam like they wanted to acknowledge anyone coming in, and if you want to see something behind the glass - forget it, they make you feel like its a chore for them.

Without a word a lie I saw same stock sitting on the selves from the previous visit (months inbetween), same outragious price.

Don't bother visiting unless you want to see eBay prices +30% on top.

Approximate cost: $BIG MONEY

Great quality food with something for everyone. Really good value both for lunch and dinner 2 course meal specials on a blackboard with many choices on hand.

It's all about the food really, cheap and tasty. Staff are happy to add/remove items - nice and quick from serving to on your table.

Its a Bistro style place, no fancy frills here... other side of the dining area is the pub and TAB facilities.

Great pub with loads on offer when it comes to both food and alcohol.

Variety when it comes to craft beer on tap, so many to choose from its fantastic to see a real choice when you visit a bar.

Meals at the mellow are all class, from your traditional chicken parma with chips and salad - to the seared fillet of salmon, everything is well presented and tastes great. (Note, their website menu is a little outdated).

Stuff are really friendly, meals came out quickly. I'll definitely come back for a visit.

In the most ideal position - right across the road from the Regent movie theatre, Sebastiaan's is ideal to stop in for a drink before your movie or to have a delicious lunch or dinner.

The menu has a bit of variety to select from plus the specials board. The open steak sandwich special is one I'd defiantly recommend, has nice tomato chutney on top and the bread bottom is actually half a garlic bread.

For the budget spenders I'd also recommend the schnitzel with gravy (chicken or pork) - for around $13.50 you get a BIG schnitzel - with some salad and chips on the side and all the gravy you need to dip your chips into.

Coffee and cake deals work out very reasonable and great selections in the fridge.

The pizza offerings are great also, the salmon pizza is tasty and I'd also recommend the chicken one with garlic aioli is a top choice also.

The restaurant itself is great if you want a quiet place to have a chat with friends, its "U" Shaped and you pick the place you want to sit at, if the entrance area has a few people, just check the other side where chances are will be quiet.

The staff are fantastic when it comes to asking for various changes and really fast service. Also has one of the most friendliest chefs we have had the pleasure of meeting.

Very recommended!

I loved the sushi here, loads of variety in the combinations and THICK logs. Try the dumplings also, you get around 15 of them for under $7 and great to share around the table.

Always quick with orders even with lunch time rushes.

The only drawback I'll mention is whatever they tried to paint their tables with very easily scratches of... loads of moronic graffiti.

Nice looking place on the inside, the renovations were amazing - great place to take the kids as they have a playground - video games and a BIG TV to entertain them.

Meals were greatly presented, tasted nice (The soft shelled crab with rice noodles was a new experience for me) and all round was quite happy to return again.

You pay a little more, but I think the overall experience is well worth a visit.

This review is for The Hot Spot, Redan VIC

The Hot Spot is a take away place that does it all - Pizza's, Fish and Chips, Hamburgers.

I had the pleasure of trying out their pizza's tonight and I was glad I did. First of all the meal deal was good value, 3 Pizzas for $20 with a surcharge for chicken pizza's ($1.50). The pizzas themselves were your traditional local pizzeria style - I really liked the bases, non greasy fluffy crust. The chicken was real pieces of chicken, the ham was the string processed stuff... but sometimes you want that in a pizza, it remind's me of the pizzas I had as a kid.

Service was friendly and nice and quick, a single lady in the shop working hard with a smile.

I'll definitely return for another pizza, maybe to even try the other selections also.

Approximate cost: $3 Pizzas for $20

Great fish and chip shop - They drop the fish fillets into the batter and straight into the fryer the minute you order.

They SOMETIMES (not as much now) - dip the ends of a chiko roll into the batter to prevent those burnt ends - its the only place I know that does it but my goodness does it work well.

You've got your all standard extras like burgers and souvlaki's (had a chicken souvlaki last week, very nice 5 stars) --- Then you've got chinese and even steaks on the menu... I haven't tried that side of the menu, but well worth a look.

Great cheap lunch specials advertised on the counter - place is spotless clean... one of my favourites when it comes to fish and chips - recommended!
