Been here again after they renovated the place to attend a debut of my daughters friend. I'm not sure if they changed managemet also but there's a bit of improvement this time with the food quality. Service doenst improve much, seems the staffs are not enough especially if the function area are occupied.

Approximate cost: $50

My husband and son took me for breakfast at Lily's for Mothers day. This was our first time as it is only new at Lily's. Must say we were disappointmented as the food took over half an hour to be arrive and was served cold and it was definitely NOT value for money. The coffee was very bitter and burnt and we told the waiter who referred the comment to the Barista, no replacement coffees were offered. I asked for table water to the same waiter and didn't receive it and had to ask a second time to the waitress before receiving it. Given out arrival time the restaurant was no where full.

Disappointed with everything. The food itself isn't the only issue, it's the service, the inconsistency of menu, and the noise. When our order came out, the presentation was nice but the food is average.

My grandfather came up to Sydney from Melbourne for a visit so after hearing lots of great news about Lilys we decided to take him there. First of all there's a beautiful driveway to get to the carpark with a delightful garden. We were quickly seated and given menus and the waiter even places the napkins on your lap when you sit. Though they got the orders rather mixed up. My grandfather asked if they had Semillon white wine. My grandfather had worked for over 60 years in a wine store on Lygon street so he knows all about different wines. When a waitress brought the drinks she brought a Sauvignon Blanc and when he stated he had asked if there was semillon the waiter had said yes. So the waitress looked up the menu and said "Oh, yes, it's a Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. It's pretty much the same thing." And my grandfather told her about his experience with wines and she just replies "It's a SEMILLON Sauvignon" like he didn't hear her the first time. Which, no, they are not the same if you are a wine connoseur. So that was a bit disappointing. Then after we ordered the food another waitress comes by with hot pots and is extremely confused when we tell her nobody ordered any hot pots. She had gotten the tables mixed up. After an hour went by our food arrives. They gave my dad risotto and he had ordered "Penne Vincenzo" and the descrioption was "Italian sausages, mixed mushrooms, fresh chilli, cherry tomatoes and napoletana sauce" He told them he had ordered penne, not risotto and the waitress looks at him blankly and then says "Oh, yes, yes, penne risotto." There is no such thing as penne risotto. Penne is pasta. We are NOT stupid and I found it simply despicable that she had covered up their incompetancy rather than finding a solution to the problem by getting the penne. I looked at the menu online and the risotto that had similar ingredients to my father's order was "Risotto salsiccia e porcini" and the description was "Porcini mushroom, cherry tomatoes, Italian sausages, garlic and parmesan" But how on earth could a waiter mistake Penne for risotto? They are two completely different meals. All the good feedback I get from friends about Lilys have all been on a weekend. So my suggestion is NEVER go on a thursday. On the plus side my Vitello Chef was absolutely amazing. The potatoes and pumpkins were cold, mind you, but the veal was oh so succulent and the artichokes in the sauce was simply divine! Hopefully the next time I go there Lilys will have more proffessional waiters and waitresses who know what they are doing and know what they are talking about.

I was a regular customer to lily's and was pretty happy with everything. Until we went there on Christmas day.

Terrible service, you had to sought out a waiter/waitress for any sort of service. The food was cold, one of main meals never came after complaining we said we didnt want it and just wanted our bill to go. As we were leaving we saw the head chef dining with a table. The kitchen staff were clearly struggling with a half empty restaurant. For the cost i was very dissapointed and after some serious discussions we got some money off the bill. I would never go back sadly!

Wow, what a bad experience. At least you got some money back.

I was thinking of also going there on Christmas Day, now glad i didn't.

As for the head chef dining when he should have been working his backside off ... he should probably re-evaluate his career options.

Went there about 9 months ago and again in July 2012 where they hosted a birthday party. I love the location and off street parking. The food during the dining was great, was a little bit disappointed with the food served for the birthday... some was a bit cold but that's what happens with big numbers. I would definitely take the family to dine here again.

Approximate cost: $25
