Well after a rocky start a couple of days ago i decided to give this company a go. I went today to pick up my new iMAC 27inch. The service i received was first class, the employee set my iMAC up at a desk so i could check it out and make sure i was satisfied with my machine. He could not do enough to help me i hope the company keeps this employee as i found him to be an asset to this company. I have 5 Apple devices, so when i upgrade the next one, my first port of call will be to Mac Alert. Well done.

Love my Macs. Macs aren't cheap but if you're a mac lover then this is the place to go. I think what I've liked the most is that no matter what question I ask they know the answer. They just know it! That's all they specialise in so they know their products inside out which makes a nice change.

However, what I don't like is that once you've spent your money, and a lot of it, on a Mac, when you go to get a service, it's highway robbery. You can leave your Mac there for a week before it will be seen (couldn't bear to be without it for that long), or you can pay to jump the queue - which I just find greedy and morally reprehensible.

Firstly thanks for the mostly positive review. I'm glad you felt our sales team were able to help with all your queries, we do pride ourselves on exactly this kind of thing. To address your feelings on our technical service, let me say I can understand your concern here. But the priority fee's are a necessary part of our service. Funnily enough, exactly for your circumstance. Usually the machine must be booked in and looked at in our queue order as there are other customers who have booked in ahead of you. It is not fair to them to just skip their job and move on to yours. They may not be ultra urgent but they have the right to their turn. We offer the priority service for those business or home users who just cannot afford to wait and are desperate for information or a useable machine. It is a service that some people do need. Without it there would be no recourse but to wait until your job is due to be looked at. Depending on amount of jobs in at the time and the complexity this time can vary greatly, however we usually quote approx 3-5 days. Of course we do our best to do it sooner. We also offer rental Macs to those who need them. The techs can also sometimes advise on or rectify simple faults at the point of book in but the sales team will never do so as they are not qualified in that area.

The service that I got from Richard and his team was exceptional. I had been into JB Hifi and was totally ignored on two separate visits for 20 minutes each. Writing shelf talkers must make them quite a bit of money! Even Next Byte staff in the city wandered past me and straightened their displays while I stood there looking for some help. I don't like pressure selling but this was ridiculously slanted the other way.

In dealing with Richard I found him to listen to my needs and he made suggestions that were appropriate to my response. I got a good deal, not great as apple products don't discount very well anywhere, with the price of each item that I purchased lower or equal to the previously mentioned stores. And he did throw in some freebies at the end which was an unexpected surprise.

I spent nearly $5,000 on several pieces of equipment for my business and I am now glad that the other stores did not care about me or my business as I think I have found a gem in Mac Alert.

Thoroughly recommend.

when i eventually got some service it was bad, i you shouldn't have to wait 10 minutes before somebody notices you, this isn't Harvey Norman

Apologies to whomever this was. We do sometimes get busy and as it takes some time to go through a Mac sale or service book in properly we are not always able to serve you immediately. Be assured when it does come to your turn though you will be offered the same professional thorough service.
