Loved this place! place was packed on arrival though the wait was not long at all. I had the banana & ricotta hotcakes which came with salted caramel sauce & chocolate & peanut brownie, talk about yumm! Must try venue!
We had a really generous and very tasty breakfast here. It was a weekday morning but was still packed which is always a good sign. We had the French Toast with Peaches and the Parmesan and Pancetta Pancakes. Both were well made and really tasty, the pancakes had quite a kick! We were wondering why they would offer half sizes of their breakfasts, but once they came out we realised why- they were HUGE! Also had a nice coffee which was a plus.

I popped in solo on a Thursday morning, and the place was packed! A great sign. I had "The old new egg dish" which was eggs scrambled with feta, beetroot relish and rocket on garlic sourdough, plus crispy pancetta. It really was as good as it sounds! Reasonable price, and a large serving. The staff were lovely. Interesting decor, it really is a laundromat! Will definitely be back.

I went to Machine cafe yesterday and decided to try one of their famous Fat Boys and I must say it was pretty good! The chicken was lovely and tender, no fatty bits, thick cut bacon and the satay sauce covering the roti bundle had a good kick of chilli to it. The hot chocolate also gives a good punch of chocolate, not weak at all. Only downside was the eggs ordered which were a bit on the oily side and the sour dough bread was a little undercooked in the middle. Will come back for the Fat Boy
This is my absolute favourite place to go for brunch! The parmesan and pancetta pancakes are to die for! Where else can you get a hot chocolate in a bowl?! Love it!
Approximate cost: $16
AMAZING , AMAZING , AMAZING. I have been here a number of times and told my husband all about it from when I went here as a school girl. He is for ever greatful I took him here. Coffee is the best in Hobart and the food is not to far behind. I have always loved it here and will be back on my next family visit to Hobart. Just thinking about their breakfast menu is making me hungry. I highly recommend.
Thanks for such a great review. It really helps when you are planning a trip.
Great coffee, breakfasts on a Sunday morning. The savoury muffins in particular are yummy, but be warned they are on the large size!
Staff are attentive and friendly. Weekend papers to read. Has a great atmosphere. Can be difficult to get a table at times as the place is very popular, but I never feel pressured by staff to hurry up.
A lovely little cafe where you can enjoy a great breakfast anytime of the day and do your washing at the same time just fantastic!!
What a great idea for people on Holliday. Wash your clothes while you sit down to a yummy breakfast in a thriving colourful cafe. Loved it!!!!
Wow, sounds like a great idea for a cafe. Never heard of it before - will stop by now if I can! :)
Nice spot to sit in the sun in Salamanca Square, have a coffee and relax over the newspaper, or just people watch on a Saturday. Cute idea to have a cafe attached to a laundromat - good idea, actually! Very useful if you're actually needing to do laundry (I wasn't, but can imagine it's better than sitting on hard chairs watching the clothes go round)!
Have also had breakfast here, good fast service, food was very good, although the coffee wasn't overly hot.
Approximate cost: $20
Funky cafe in Salamanca Square, great if you have kids as they can play safely with the outdoor chess set while you can relax over coffee. The food and coffee here is good, a little overpriced but very nice. Great if you need to do some washing!
Staff made incorrect coffees, but brought them to the table anyway and asked us to have them, no offer of the coffees we actually ordered or any apology or discount.
