Love the decor and feel of this restaurant. Brown hues and comfortable seats, with gnarled bits of wood dotted around and warm lighting makes Aria feel like you are, well, in a fine dining Aussie restaurant.
The service was great, attentive and polite, with advice about wine and food, but also not too stuffy. Food was delicious, really beautifully presented with classic but delicious flavour combinations. Everything was cooked really well and added to a really nice evening. Perfectly placed for a really well priced pre-theatre dinner, if I'm in this neck of the woods again, will be back!

Great little sushi train, with a nice variety of dishes. It smelled pretty fishy when we walked in so we were sceptical, however the sushi all tasted fresh and we didn't seem to suffer! In addition to the dishes on the sushi train, it was great being able to order specific things you wanted or hot dishes for the same price as the rolls and ngiri.
As always, a nice cheap way to get a good feed.

This review is for Firedoor, Surry Hills NSW

Firedoor was warm and inviting, set below street level, with decor fitting to an Australian 'fire-based' restaurant.
We chose the degustation menu, which brought us a wonderful assortment of seafood and meat, and vegetables we probably wouldn't have otherwise ordered. Despite only being cooked with fire, everything was perfectly done, and nothing was too smokey. The ingredients weren't hidden, with each one being looked after and paired well in the dish. The wine list also had some great options to stand up to the overall smokiness/ woodiness of the food and the surrounds.
Staff were generally really friendly however we did sit for a long time waiting for our bill (over 20 minutes while multiple tables around us finished eating, were brought their bills, paid, and left). Just a small thing, but does make a difference. Overall however, very pleasant evening.

We ate here on a Thursday evening and absolutely loved it.
Beginning with a perfectly made tasty and as described cocktail, we followed with the degustation menu and matched wines.
As you would expect, the attention to detail was impeccable, from the wait staff, to the kitchen. Each dish was exciting, full of flavour, and beautifully balanced. It was a delicate assortment of dishes with each element able to shine through.
The matched wines were also interesting and really well paired, with the characteristics of each glass enhancing the dish it was accompanying.
The staff were attentive and friendly, and engaging throughout the evening. We felt no pressure to eat faster or slower, and didn't realise until after we left how comfortable we had been to go at our own pace.
We had an early booking and got to see a cruise ship leave the terminal, which was fun (if you're interested in that sort of thins)! It revealed the amazing view of the opera house, with the harbour bridge to the other side of the restaurant.
Yep, it's expensive, but it's worth it.

This was such a fun and delicious dinner, we are already planning our next visit.
We shared an entree, two mains, two sides, and a dessert, and paired it with a couple of delicious cocktails and wine/mead. We were pretty full, but portion sizes were what you would expect, and everything was Perfectly cooked. The Nordic theme was fun and engaging, rather than kitsch, and the staff were knowledgeable about the products they were serving.
It took a little while (actually quite a while) to get our bill, even after asking, which was a bit annoying, but otherwise service was great.
It was my partners birthday, and they even made this special, which was a nice touch.
Well worth a visit.

Another good Vietnamese cafe with fresh and interesting Banh Mi. They have the classics but also some yummy alternatives which I've found fresh and tasty. A little bit pricier than your standard little Vietnamese bakery.
Their Vietnamese iced coffee is also a yummy treat on a hot day. Would go again!

Came here while shopping in Chadstone and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of a restaurant in a shopping centre. This whole "dining precinct" (fancied up food court) is actually not too bad! The staff here were friendly and provided great service. I've only had the pasta here - which had lots of well cooked seafood and a tasty sauce. Pasta wasn't overcooked either. A good quick lunch stop or movie night dinner stop.

After a movie we wanted to grab some dinner at Chaddy. We didn't want to wait in line (it was a busy Saturday evening), and got a table at Mamas Boi. It was such a great decision! We got the banquet (love not having to make decisions) and got a delicious range of Vietnamese cuisine. Definitely not fine dining, but for shopping centre food it was a pleasant surprise. Cocktails were also tasty, staff were friendly, and the whole place had a pretty buzzing vibe. Lots of the dishes going to other tables which weren't a part of the banquet menu also looked and smelled tasty, so I look forward to trying them.

As a first experience here after many years planning on coming I was extremely excited. Yum, such a delicious meal. We ordered the banquet and got a perfect amount of food, all impeccably prepared. There was a great mix of seafood/ veg/ and meat, and everything was really tasty and well balanced. Flavours were interesting without being unpleasant, and the drinks menu was well matched. Staff were attentive, friendly, and helped us to have a great night. Worth a splurge.

We had the banquet menu which was a lot of food, but really quite expensive. It would have been a better option to choose a range of dishes we really wanted.
Despite this, the food was full of flavour and generally well cooked. Unfortunately a very tasty fish curry had extremely overcooked fish. Overall however the flavours were good and staff were friendly.
I'd come back here and be selective about which dishes I chose.
