As a non-spicy food person, my family has been amazed at my sudden desire to frequent this restaurant. The food is amazingly delicious and incredibly great value for money. The service can occasionally be a little relaxed but the staff are all incredibly friendlyand polite. Definitely recommend you check it out even if you don't like spicy food. Conveniently located next to train station and across the road from a parking lot. The tables are covered in paper so take some crayons to entertain the kids or the adults. :)

I'm not a big fan of spicy food - I didn't eat any here, but all the other food I tried was delicious! It's a very modern looking Indian place, the interior and decorations are interesting and look great. According to everyone else, the spicy food was great! The service was very quick and polite, and the value was unbeatable. This is my favourite Indian restaurant now!

My wife and I are regular patrons because they are a short walk from home for us. The food is great, the decor pleasant, the service friendly without being intrusive, and the prices reasonable.
less than $40 per double unless you are a big eater. BYO wine. This review was first posted in 2008. We have noticed a decline in the food standard such that by early 2012 we rarely eat there. The staff are good, but the food has lost the brilliance of former years. We will continue to eat there occasionally to check on the standard. Well here it is 2013 and we have not been back. There are several other Indian restaurants within walking distance of home and they get our custom now. This is sad, because Maharani were so very good many years ago. In May 2014 - we have not been back. Bistro 309 in Centre road is our Indian Restaurant of choice currently.
June 2015 - We revisited and found the food and service quite good, but not sufficiently enticing to put them back on the favourites list.

fantastic little indian restaurant, no fancy decor just tasy, cheap indian our family has been having take away from here for a while and it still tops our list for the area. vindaloo and butter chicken and winners!!

Great little restaurant near the train tracks .. generous portions, low prices and tasty dishes .. the butter chicken is the best ive had.

We always get take-aways. The food is always delicious. The portions are generous, and they include rice with your meal.
You can ask for the food to be mild, medium or hot.
