Probably would not go back. Over-priced and inconsistent coffee, is it really that hard?!! I was not impressed to be charged $5 for a glass of orange juice that came straight out of the bottle, please! Music very loud, ended up going to the Wild Yam cafe and wow, what a cafe!

The café is located at the heart of Mordialloc right next to Mordialloc training station. First time visited it today and tried a medium cap and a Muffet. Both tasted great and the cap was one of the best that I have ever had. Price is slightly higher than other places, but you get what you pay for. Will visit at least one a week and recommend it to everyone.

A regular meeting point because of it's terrific location and consistently fantastic meals. Last time I had the omelette, and it was a very generous portion - struggled to finish the whole thing. I love that the cafe donate money to local clubs for some items on the menu, including the omelette. Varied menu, great dessert selection, and licensed too. Highly recommended - just make sure you book to avoid disappointment!

We've been quite a few times. I love the breakfast menu and the coffee is yum!! My favourites are the T1 (a toasted egg and bacon sandwich with a tasty tomato relish) and the home made baked beans. Make sure you book, it can get very busy.

love going to this place on a sunny arvo and grabbing a seat in the outside area to enjoy the yummy beef burger (love the tomato relish! best I've ever tasted!) and an iced coffee! Service is helpful and friendly. A little over priced but it is worth indulging every once and a while because of the quality and enjoyment of this little establishment! They also do great coffees!! The only negative for me is that i wish they served the breakfast menu all day instead of having allocated menus for each meal of the day. Apart from that.. this place is a gem

I frequently go to Main Street. I've had breakfast, brunch, lunch dinner or just a coffee on my various visits. The menu offers great varieties for any time of the day and the food is consistently good. The staff are friendly and know the menu well. Can be very noisy if full such as a Friday night or over the weekend brunch time. Book if you are visiting in the evening or over the weekend, it's very popular.

Main Street certainly a local star in Mordialloc! Great for Lazy Sunday brunch or just a cup of latte!

My favorite food is Moroccan Meat balls, I even got inspired digging out a Jamile Oliver's recipe book and made some meatballs at home! It's a dog friendly Cafe too, my dog got some free bikkies last time! lucky her**.

Here are the photos for toasted muesli - another good choice for breakfast. >>>Check out photos from Main Street Cafe <<<

Sounds like a great place to eat or have a latte. Time to get down there asap.

Came here on the weekend and loved the ambience in this historical building on Main Street. Its warm lighting, inviting demeanour and it's a little romantic might I say. The food looks great on the plate and will definitely whet the appetite!

We had 3 dishes.
1. Mum's famous crab dip - consisted of fresh blue swimmer crab meat, super cream cheese based with finely chopped tomato, red onion and Italian flat leaf parsley. This was served with lavosh poppy seed biscuits. The dip was so good I was tempted to just eat it by itself. $14.50

2. Crumbed veal cutlet served with roasted chat potatoes and feta and roasted capsicum salad. This was ok, felt the dish was too oily. The veal wasn't crispy but soaked in oil. Everything else on the plate was good. $31

3. Ravioli filled with beetroot and ricotta choose dressed with a sweet pea mash, rocket and pan seared chicken. First I must say that the chicken was the best I have ever had. It was moist, juicy and slightly crispy on the edges. (despite only 2 pieces). Pea mash was a winner and the ravioli was cooked to perfection! $26

The service was friendly and casual. It wasn't too crowded and had a great buzz. Big menu and it is bound to cater for the fussiest eaters. I like this place, it has the right balance of good food and service and will be coming back. Recommended.

Approximate cost: $21-39

I've been driving past Main Street for months and months and it's always full. Based on this, as well as the positive reviews on WOMO, I had to try the place out.

I made a booking in advance (just in case there were no tables when we arrived) and the staff were happy to add another seat when our party numbers changed at the last minute.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Even though the place was very busy, we didn't have much trouble getting their attention.

I had a salad with grilled chicken, my sister-in-law had an omelette and my husband had toast with bacon and hash browns on the side. None of us disliked our meals but I personally felt that, for $19.00, my salad was a little on the small side, it was overly dressed and oily, and the grilled chicken portion was really small.

In terms of drinks, I had a yoghurt smoothie which I didn't really like that much (too sour) and my husband thought that his Toblerone hot chocolate was way too sweet. We did have coffee afterwards that we all liked.

We also couldn't go past the cake cabinet, which was filled with delicious looking goodies. I had a mini carrot cake and my sister-in-law had a mini macadamia cheesecake. They were both quite tasty.

All in all, it was a bit hit and miss. Maybe my expectations were just way too high or maybe we were just unlucky. I would give them another go if I had a particular reason to go back but I am disappointed that it wasn't as great as I hoped it would be.
