The service was exceptional, very friendly and took our photo, even tho the poor man was run off his feet. A good crowd for a Tuesday night. We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted good Italian. This is def the best in Newtown. The entrance is actually around the corner on Church street. Been there for years and hasn't changed, obviously a winning formula.

I really love going to Mamma Maria. It is well priced and tastes like homemade Italian food. The service is lovely. I like going there for a relaxed date or with friends. The interiors are relaxed and homely, with gorgeous art deco mirrors and a view down onto king street. They have a great selection on the menu with some vegetarian speacials. This is the place I go to have some homecooking, bring a bottle of wine (as they are BYO) and enjoy a fantastic creame caramel ( which is one of the best I have had)

The service is relaxed but friendly. The food is good for the price, but most of the sauces taste like worchestershire. My meal and my partners tasted pretty much the same, even though we ordered completely different meals. The interior could do with a revamp as it's pretty old and tired looking. Overall it's cheap and you get enough to eat.

Food is always good here. The place still looks as tired as it was in the 90's, but we are always treated well here, even when we are with a large group that can be difficult at times. Love the oysters. Service was efficient and value is great.

Wow! this place has been around forever! Food is basic italian, but still fab none the less. Service is fantastic, youre always greeted like a long lost friend. Best to go early and on week nights as you can be waiting on Fri/Sat nights for over half an hour for a table.
