Their breakfasts are HUGE! Especially the big which I recommend if you are really hungry or shared between two. The smoothies they have on the menu are also a must try, also the snickers thickshake, yum. A newtown institution.
I love the salads they have, salmon, tofu, teriyaki chicken served fresh on a bed of lettuce with a tasty sauce. Very good for lunch. Quick service.
Great chicken, roast vegies, chips with gravy, salads. A great cheap eat. A newtown instiution, definatley better than KFC.
A great place to have a drink and relax to watch newtown pass you by. The milkshakes are delightful and the chai latte is simply fantastic, made fresh using spices to get that authenic full flavour. There dessert menu is also worth a look. Service can be a bit hit and miss.

Best coffee in Newtown, consistent and delicious every time. Tasty bacon and egg burgers on the breakfast menu that you can have with an array of delightful condiments and sauces. Also very good if you get in before nine to have a special breakfast menu of coffee and a friand/savory or sweet muffin or bacon and egg burger. can get very busy in the morning but the staff are very efficent and friendly. A newtown must!

Fanatic selection of burgers, with options to have either a wholemeal bun or a wrap. They have wonderfully fat chips, a definite plus in my book. And you can also have half chips and half salad with your meal. Service is always quick and friendly. A must if you want a fat burger.

I really love going to Mamma Maria. It is well priced and tastes like homemade Italian food. The service is lovely. I like going there for a relaxed date or with friends. The interiors are relaxed and homely, with gorgeous art deco mirrors and a view down onto king street. They have a great selection on the menu with some vegetarian speacials. This is the place I go to have some homecooking, bring a bottle of wine (as they are BYO) and enjoy a fantastic creame caramel ( which is one of the best I have had)

The only sushi train in Newtown. I love the convience of it all great for dining in or take way. The staff are very friendly and more than happy to help, if item you want is not the "train" the chef will make it fresh. There edamame great there served hot with salt. I recommend trying a bit of everything on the menu as most of it is great. The green tea ice ceam there smells like onion, however it does not affect the taste.

I thoroughly enjoy going to Happy Chef, I particularly like the Mushroom and Vegetable hotpot with egg noodles and the Duck stir fry. The inside is not so flash, fluorescent lights and magazines, but the food definitely makes up for everything. Good for cheap dinner. Definately good value for money!
