we camped out here, and it was incredible. got to get up close and personal with the two albino lions as they ate their dinner, and woke us to their singing in the morning. surrounded by deer and kangeroos it is an incredible experience

our family loves animals and discovering zoos and nature parks, so this zoo was definitely on the to-do list

we visited on Melbourne Cup day yesterday and were pleased to go see the lions which was the main draw card

at arrival and paying your $15 for adult and $8 for 2 year old child - to be honest i was a little surprised to be paying for my 2 year old as most places he gets in for free .. but nevermind ,............ we were able to purchase some feed for a $2.50 fee which came i a bucket and spade

the young lady was friendly enough, giving us a map and advice as to what animals we can feed

we enjoyed walking around and being amongst the free roaming ducks, deers and kanagoos ... we even fed them and i think my young son enjoyed it the most having this experience of being up close to animals to feed and pat them

good walking paths around to go see monkeys and wombat as well .. just a word of caution be careful where you step as you will get poo on your shoes

glad to have gone to this privately run zoo, we had a pleasant experience.

Sounds like a great place - never knew it existed! Definitely one to take the kids to - is it open all year?

Mansfield Zoo was definitely a surprise. It's got a good range of animals, domestic and exotic. The lions are obviously the highlight but they have monkeys and bison as well, and a large number of "free range" animals like kangaroos, sheep, goats, llamas etc. The owners are very friendly and enjoy a chat and showing you around. It's no Melbourne or Werribee zoo - its smaller and friendlier.
