A beautiful setting right on Woolloomooloo Wharf amongst the hustle and bustle of the wharf restaurants lies Manta.

The food is fairly good, I had the calamari to start which was exceptional with an amazing smokey aioli. My main course was the petit eye fillet which was a beautiful piece of meat, probably a little under cooked however stile quite nice.

They are a little on the light side when it comes to pouring wine so you do find that for what ended up being $130 a head for our group you are a little underdone.

Reservations are essential as it is definitely a popular place.

Wow, we had a really lovely time here. The maître d lady was so welcoming and friendly. we had two entrees - fried calamari and fresh oyster and both were fresh and enjoyable. For mains, my partner had the beef cheeks and I had the barramundi and flavours were great and portion was generous. Dessert rounded up the meal very nicely.

Thumbs up

This place has a really pretty view. The restaurant has made the most of this by having large windows and large doors that open onto the wharf and face the water. We had the cooked king prawns, half a kilo. It was lovely eating it by the water with nice summer evening breeze. The wine list was pretty standard. Nothing special.

The meals are a bit expensive, but it's expected for such a fancy location.

Approximate cost: $40
