To all the doctors and nurses there I thank you for how hard you have to work under the terrible conditions you have to deal with. I was in emergency a few times and it reminded me of a war zone. I could see the pain in your faces trying to treat people and sending them back to emergency waiting room due to no beds. When I did get treated the line of patients with there ambulance drivers next to them because no beds or doctors to hand them over too. This government has a lot to answer for and if someone doesn’t do something soon we will loose more good people who are trying to do there jobs but can’t. It doesn’t matter if they are the best or the worst doctor or nurse they do this job to help people and not to see people suffer. Unfortunately due to every government promising to do things if they win a election and then when they do they don’t keep there word so these poor medical people have to watch old people waiting and people in pain lying around waiting room and they cant help them. That’s why we will keep losing them. I waited 10 hrs on day then 12 hrs another day to get a bed. But they are trying to do there best and also sympathetic to everyone. I commend all the staff there thank you for all you do for our community and I know it is so much harder for you than it should be. God bless you all

I would particularly like to single out the emergency care nurse, Lia, for her wonderful bedside manner. She treated my elderly mother with care and respect. The ward staff on 1 North were equally caring. I know the hospital was short staffed but this did not impact their patient care.

I thoroughly recommend a lovely Indian lady called REVA in 1 north who demonstrates loads of compassion and experience and for her patients. I've had many hospital stays over the past decade, and this lady would be the best Nurse I've ever experienced. Nothing was too difficult or too much trouble. Please look after her she's a real gem.

I was taken to Maroondah Hospital through the Emergency Department with a very serious blood infection. From my vey first contact with the two Paramedics, I was treated very well. Virtually no delay in getting a bed in Emergency. The next morning I was admitted into a ward. My contacts with the nurses the doctors through to the cleaning staff was excellent. One full week in hospital and I have had nothing but praise for all of the staff. When speaking to different members I found out that many are long timers. This alone indicates that the hospital must also treat their staff well. The food was much better that what I have had in other hospitals. The ward I was in is an older part of the hospital and will probably have to be updated.
Congratulations to each staff member at Maroondah Hospital, keep up the good work you are all excelling at what you do best. That is providing care to your patients.

Recently my husband was admitted as a patient via emergency after collapsing. The care and the communication was excellent. We needed to make decisions about a holiday so the charge nurses, in consultation with the doctors, went out of their way to ensure that we had all the information to make them. The care he received was friendly, professional and he was relaxed.
We have no hesitation in going to Maroondah.

I had to rush to ER dept for 3 times due to my gastro and hives problems. Waited many hours to be treated as usual as there were heaps of patients. Mine wasn't life threatening so I had to wait at least 3 hours.

But the recent 2 trips to the ER Dept because the swelling of my hives and lips, the ER doctors were fast and responsive. Very young doctors but they were patient to listen to my problems and prescribed me some medicine. I requested a blood test to check if my blood has inflammation...etc, got the results within 1.5 hours. Remember to bring your Medicare Card and Private Health Insurance card.

I recently had to go to the emergency department with my sister after I hit my face and my finger and had a bit of concussion. The staff there were fairly quick and did a great job in looking after me.

Thank you very much.
